“Washington must not give the Taliban’s repression of women a blank check—especially because the deepening persecution of women will feed other kinds of extremism,” write @HadeiaAmiry and @LisaCurtisDC.

The Hostage Recovery Fusion Cell (HRFC) coordinates efforts dedicated to recovering Americans held hostage abroad and supporting the hostages and their families during and after release. We lost a beautiful soul on Thanksgiving day, and my heart is shattered. I can’t imagine what her family, friends and loved ones are going through. No one should ever have to face such pain. The perpetrator must be held accountable, and justice must be served.

#Abedeh in Ghor set herself on fire after being forced to marry a Talib. This is what Taliban gender apartheid looks like: bringing women to the verge of giving up on life. It's not just one story, it’s scream of millions.
This regime of terror must end!

The Taliban decision to suspend medical education for women and girls is an unjustifiable attack on women’s access to education in Afghanistan. https://t.co/g9VUdebazO
Afghanistan’s women’s issue must be in the global spotlight every day. In the 21st century, an entire population of women is being erased from public life simply for being born female. They are denied the rights to work, study, travel, sport, or simply go to a hair salon.
Women and girls of Afghanistan are leading the fight against Taliban oppression with extraordinary resilience that demands recognition. Congratulations to Nila Ibrahimi for winning the 2024 International Children’s Peace Prize.
The Taliban aims to erase Afghanistan’s rich cultural heritage of music and dance, including the beautiful Logari music, which combines Pashtun and Tajik influences.
Manizha Siddiqi says the Taliban "gang-raped" her twice and jailed her for 6 months for speaking out. Women under Taliban rule face rape, torture, and abduction simply for demanding basic rights.
