Bryce Heard scored 10, Jayden Tyler 9. Mac Hagemaster was terrific battling against the Ironmen's multiple big post threats. He's been the key to the game so far defensively for the Vikings.

In a thrilling matchup, Coach Jamere Dismukes and the Homewood Flossmoor Vikings secured a hard-fought 68-66 overtime victory against the formidable Joliet West Basketball Team in the sectional semi-final. The win propels Homewood Flossmoor to the Sectional Championship, where they will face the winner of Bloom vs Marist.

Now, let's dive into the game.

While every player on Homewood Flossmoor played a pivotal role in this collective triumph, the coveted Uncle Curt's Red Kool Aid Player of the Game title goes to 'BIG' MAC' Hagemaster.

His exceptional performance on both ends of the court was a game-changer.

From plugging up the middle with unmatched skill to asserting his dominance early in the first quarter until his late-game exit in overtime due to fouls, BIG MAC showcased defensive prowess that was second to none.

Opponents attempting to penetrate the defense had to contend with the imposing Lewis Commit, and it was far from a pleasant experience, given his impeccable timing.

Upon reviewing the game footage, BIG MAC's defensive impact becomes even more apparent, tallying an impressive count of five blocks. Not to mention the countless shot alterations, often overlooked in today's game.

BIG MAC not only contributed defensively but also set the tone for the entire game with his suffocating defense, remarkable outlet passes, and effective back-to-the-basket play on the offensive end.

His all-around performance made him the linchpin for the Vikings' success tonight.
