I had such a diaspora moment today as my place of work celebrated the discovery of insulin 100 years ago. Then I remembered people in Tigray are dying because they can't access insulin due to #TigrayGenocide#Diaspora#insulin100#TigrayCantWait
Until #Ethiopia implements the Pretoria peace deal, @EximBankUS shouldn't approve a loan to #Ethiopa#Tigray should see unrestricted humanitarian assistance, banking, internet & medicine before #Ethiopia sees the $100 million.
The letter @Ilhan@RepMcGovern & I sent to EXIM,⬇️
Ethiopia PM Abiy Ahmed war against #Tigray region is approaching its second anniversary.
Abiy’s animosity toward the TPLF does not justify collective punishment against an entire ethnic group: starving Tigray and detaining ethnic Tigrayans in Addis Ababa. https://t.co/0dZna2Z6mM
500,000 lives lost through #TigrayGenocide. That is approx. 7-10% of Tigrayans worldwide.
We see the power of collective action with #Ukraine, and I wonder when the International Community will respond to #Tigray.
https://t.co/He3MTgtnss
@AfricaUnite1999 I think you may have been misinformed. The TPLF are actually the elected representatives of the region of Tigray. The current Prime Minister of Ethiopia has been working with multiple non-African countries to kill and rape Tigrayan civilians for over a year.
For months the intl. community has said that if the Tigrayan government leaves the Afar/Amhara region, the siege on Tigray will stop. The Tigrayan government has done it's part, yet the people still have no access to food, power, medication or other human necessities.

Although Tigray forces have withdrawn from the Afar & Amhara regions to give peace a chance, forces loyal to @AbiyAhmedAli continue to massacre civilians across the board. Be sure to join my upcoming Space for details on the chilling #AbalaMassacre https://t.co/BjumVlaIFM
As @JustinTrudeau praises Archbishop Tutu for his advocacy of human rights, #Canada continues to support the Ethiopian gov't as it commits genocide against #Tigray. Perhaps it would be better to follow his example instead of simply writing tweets.
#KnowMore#StopTigrayGenocide
Archbishop Tutu was a voice for the oppressed and a tireless advocate for human rights – and the world is a better place because he was in it. Sending my deepest condolences to his loved ones, the people of South Africa, and everyone mourning this incredible loss.
Unbelievable
An Ethiopian member of parliament and a top advisor to @AbiyAhmedAli is implying the ax is being sharpened and that only the fool would think the scheduled slaughter was cancelled. If this is not genocidal speech, nothing else is ‼️
This guy calls himself a deacon.
Please take a minute to sign this petition asking the Canadian government to act against the genocidal war taking place in Tigray, Ethiopia.

New airstrikes hit the capital of Ethiopia’s Tigray region, residents said Wednesday, as video showed injured people and thick black smoke rising in the sky https://t.co/iZaneLqhxM
Some emotions need no translation. The horrific trauma, desperation, pain and hopelessness are all evident.
The world continues to watch as #Ethiopia starves the people of #Tigray in a famine that rivals that of the 80s. #StopTigrayFamine#LetThemLive@UNHumanRights
Imagine dedicating your life to protecting your country only to be handed a death sentence by them simply because of your ethnicity. I can't imagine the betrayal they are feeling.

@HeikoMaas @juergenhardt@RegSprecher
Chilling statement by Ethiopian Prime Minister, reminiscent of how "cockroaches" was used to describe the victims of genocide in Rwanda. @JoeBiden It's time for decisive action now to save millions. @POTUS@SecBlinken@Oprah https://t.co/J7TAqP91J9
Police in Addis Ababa have arbitrarily arrested and detained dozens of Tigrayans, activists and journalists without due process. They must end these arbitrary detentions and reveal the whereabouts of unaccounted detainees.

The Ethiopian govt's announcement of a ceasefire continues to be proven meaningless. Thousands of Sidama + Oromo Forces are mobilizing to continue the genocide in #Tigray while under a full blackout. This comes amidst 900K+ Tigrayans in famine and 91% needing emergency food aid.
Today, the UN Human Rights Council took its first action on #Tigray since the conflict began over 8 months ago. The resolution adopted is modest and just the first step to addressing the crisis. We urge UN Human Rights Council to take a more robust action in its next session.
