@iskarob Students who have engaged parents are more likely to have better social skills. I am concluding that this is because they have an active role model in their life teaching them these social skills. If parents aren't as engaged, behavioral issues increase #EDUC330 #TheRents

@iskarob To me, parent engagement is caring about your child's success and well being within the classroom and being willing to communicate and work with us as teachers. In elementary classes, I see it also as volunteering for field trips, class parties, etc #EDUC330 #TheRents

@LeschAbby @persianofntrest I think it depends on the age group! I want to do elementary, so I think a more extensive newsletter that I would send out once a month would be really good! It would have a calendar of any notable events, no school days, what students are learning etc #EDUC330 #TheRents

I know a lot of people are saying parent newsletters which I like as well! The one concern I have with them is sometimes this can take much additional time when we already have so much going on! Just something to consider. #EDUC330 #TheRents

@annasauer415 A2: I really like the annual open houses! I love that we get to see how parents & their children interact, & it gives us a chance to meet the parents if there haven't been conferences or other communication yet. I also think they are fun & a great environment! #EDUC330 #TheRents
