“If you can be relentless in everything you do, whether it’s on the field, off the field, whatever task you have, be relentless,” Brigid Duffy
Being relentless isn’t a talent.
It’s a choice.
A choice to pursue excellence without excuses.
What if your willingness to be coached is one of the most important leadership lessons your team ever sees?
In this clip, Tara VanDerveer shares how bringing in a leadership coach to support her team unexpectedly helped her become a better coach as well.
"Here I have coached for like 44 years at the time, and I think she really helped me up my game. I listened and I took her coaching very seriously."
Here you have a Hall of Famer, 3-time national champion, a GOAT in college basketball, and she's still choosing to be a student.
The moment you believe your experience exempts you from learning is often the moment your growth begins to slow and your team pays a price.
Experience should be a foundation for learning, not an excuse to stop.
Great leaders never stop being students because they know others are always learning from their example.

Brent Venables with a masterclass on how to coach young people:
They've never been 20.
They've never been 25.
They've never been 30.
They don't know what they don't know yet.
Your job isn't to rush their growth. It's to plant seeds.
1. Seeds of perspective.
2. Seeds of vision.
3. Seeds of reality.
The harvest isn't your timeline to control.

Chris Petersen on why great coaching starts with leading yourself first.
“You can’t give away what you don’t possess.”
Coaches often ask how to develop better habits, focus, self-awareness, and resilience in their players.
The uncomfortable answer is that it starts with you.
You won’t be able to sustainably lead people past the work you’re unwilling to do yourself.

The Seahawks are hiring Jimmie Dougherty as an offensive assistant, per sources.
Dougherty, 47, coached at the college level the past 24 years, most recently as Washington’s OC and QB coach. Now he stays in Seattle with the Super Bowl champs.
First and foremost I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates and the people who helped me along the way and most importantly The College of the Redwoods coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. With a lot of thought and consideration I want to bet on myself and take the JUCO route committing to The College of the Redwoods🌲
