Two agreements worth $6.5 million were signed for Ukraine and Syria, on the sidelines of the #UNGA80

Today, @KSRelief & @UNOPS signed 2 agreements to strengthen health systems in #Syria & #Ukraine. This is an important step forward in our partnership with @KSRelief & the government of #SaudiArabia, signed on the sidelines of #UNGA80.

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) conducted a field visit to the Syrian Arab Republic to advance development priorities.

During the visit, the delegation held meetings with representatives from UN-Habitat, the International Rescue Committee, the World Food Programme, the International Organization for Migration, the United Nations Office for Project Services, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), and the Syrian Ministry of Health. Discussions focused on priority sectors, including health, water, food security, and community rehabilitation, with the aim of supporting recovery efforts in the country.

This field visit highlights QFFD’s commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable development, delivering effective humanitarian assistance, and enhancing the resilience and well-being of Syrian communities through impactful partnerships.

Fuel is now Gaza’s only lifeline. With the ceasefire, @UNOPS has scaled up deliveries from 100K to 1.3M liters daily. Keeping ambulances, hospitals, and bakeries operational. Careful monitoring ensures every drop is used where it’s needed most.

I visited the solar farm that once powered the European Hospital in Gaza. It is no longer operating. With solar panels gone, the hospital now relies on fuel deliveries from @UNOPS. Restoring sustainable energy is critical for long-term recovery.
