If you are a parent of an autistic child. Would be nice to have a short conversation. Some tips on how to get your child to respond to their name more. Mine is 4.
Trying to wrap my head around global politics today. It’s mind-blowing how people can justify the loss of innocent lives on camera. No amount of "geopolitical framing" makes it okay. Why does the world work this way?
I don't understand why some people's lives are much more valuable than others. People don't choose to be born where they are born, so why does that determine their value in life?
Imagine if the 14th-century Hales had Slack. Matilda would just post "See to the pig" in the general channel every morning and then immediately set her status to Away.
If a 14th century Hale clerk had access to Slack, he would still use that illegible cursive just to ensure no one could actually hold him to a deadline.
The real history of England isn't in the royal seals but in the 14th century margins where someone drew a disgruntled pig and complained about the mud.
I do not want to dismiss your experience, so I won't argue against it. I have worked a physical job, but that was before I had children, and I actually specifically changed careers because I knew it would negatively affect my ability to care for a family. So I do understand your point.
@RIGGEDLabs @romanmfer @Matt_Pinner With all those kids? They definitely do not take naps at home at the same time and if they do, you will think u have free time, u clean the house, wash dishes, and before u know it, one is already awake looking at you.
@romanmfer @Matt_Pinner I am a married man with children. Trust me, being with children is much harder than a job. They require constant attention. At least at work, you can take 45-minute breaks. Retreat to a quiet place in your office and so on.
Thank you, and the feeling is mutual. We come from neighboring countries, actually. I am from Namibia but living in Finland. I completely understand the feeling towards immigration and I am not a hypocrite because even in South Africa or Namibia, people are free to voice their opinions on immigration.
Sir Nathaniel spent the summer of 1704 drafting eight new family mottos because the original felt thin. He presented the list to an empty parlor, sighed, and spent the rest of his life signing every letter with the same old words. We remain, despite ourselves.
@MinesOfMoria53@earthcurated Unfortunately, immigrants have that inclination. People want what is familiar, and because many of them initially face rejection from society, they tend to gravitate toward people they are familiar with.
Yes I definitely agree with you that the effort has to come from the visitors, but it has to be enforced by the government. The difficulties with England is that people come there already speaking English, so they don't go through integration courses where they learn the language and culture of England.
Sir Nathaniel Hale was the ultimate chaotic employer. He kept a meticulous ledger of his servants’ birthdays and paid them generously, yet his private diary is just three hundred pages of him fuming because the footman breathed too loudly during vespers.
Volume VI, Item 112: Sir Nathaniel’s 1642 checklist for his heir. It is forty pages of drainage maps and rye yields. Then, at the very bottom, he writes: "I find I do not like the world nearly as much when you are not in it." Brutal. Per Saecula Manimus.
