Stay tuned for an ✨interactive atlas✨ that will enable a deep dive into aSyn intensity and density throughout the brain 👀 Of course, thank you to my amazing co-authors and funding sources that made the project possible 💪 @maximewc@MXHend@ASAP_Research
Check it out! 🧐 We used our recently developed Snca-NLS mouse to map alpha-synuclein topography throughout the adult mouse brain, spinal cord, retina, and gut. ✨Pretty images below: https://t.co/PPuZ76SkDk
Interestingly, aSyn was detected in ALL neurons in the myenteric plexus of the stomach and duodenum. Although some cells were quite bright whereas others were dim…

1/8 I am excited to announce the publication of my first research article in @bioRxiv! As such, here is my #tweetorial of the publication: https://t.co/zoyZjAJcCW
7/8 We then turned to mass spectrometry to analyze cortical proteins in our mice. Here, we found a significant decrease in proteins involved in dopamine signalling. This suggests that disrupted dopamine signalling pathways may underlie nuclear aSyn toxicity in PD.
