Sokoto State: Response to Allegations Regarding Hamdiyya Sidi.

The attention of the Sokoto State Government has been drawn to the recent narration by Hamdiyya Sidi regarding her situation, which has sparked widespread public interest and accusations from various individuals and organizations. While the government initially chose to remain silent until the matter was resolved through the court of law, it is now compelled to clarify its position in light of the victim’s account.

As mentioned in the government’s earlier statement, the Sokoto State Government reiterates that it has no hand in what happened to Hamdiyya Sidi. The government categorically denies any unlawful interference in her case and remains committed to collaborating with necessary agencies to ensure that Hamdiyya Sidi receives the help and support she deserves.

Contrary to the claims made by Amnesty International, Human Rights Movements Nigeria (HRMN), the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Freedom Salvation International, and Solomon Dalong, Hamdiyya Sidi herself has stated that she declined the government’s offer of assistance. This further confirms that the Sokoto State Government played no role in her detention or any alleged mistreatment.

The government calls on these organizations and individuals to refrain from making baseless accusations without due diligence and demands a formal apology for the unfounded claims intended to malign the government’s reputation. While the Sokoto State Government values and recognizes the critical role that human rights organizations and political stakeholders play in society, it will not hesitate to take legal action against those who continue to spread falsehoods and defamatory statements.

The Sokoto State Government empathizes with Hamdiyya Sidi and remains dedicated to ensuring that the matter is thoroughly investigated. Those found guilty of any wrongdoing will be held accountable under the law. The government assures the public of its continued commitment to justice, fairness, and upholding its integrity amidst these baseless allegations.

I am pleased to announce that the Sokoto State Executive Council, under my leadership, has approved several key projects aimed at enhancing the security, infrastructure, and cultural heritage of our beloved state.

We will be acquiring additional security vehicles to strengthen our efforts in combating insecurity and ensuring the safety of our citizens.

Additionally, we have approved the renovation of the Sokoto State Historical Museum (Waziri Junaidu History and Culture Bureau) to preserve our rich history and culture for future generations.

We are also committed to completing the Sokoto State Independent Power Project (IPP) to provide adequate electricity, which is vital for our economic growth and the overall well-being of our people.

Moreover, we have approved the construction of new roads, including Zurmi Road, Gobir Road, Argungu Road, and the road from Kalambaina to the Arkilla Fulani Roundabout. These improvements will enhance connectivity and facilitate trade and movement within the state.

Lastly, we will renovate six major religious centers to support the continuation of religious practices, ensuring our communities have the necessary facilities for worship.

These initiatives reflect our dedication to the progress and prosperity of Sokoto State. Together, we will build a better future for the good people of Sokoto State.

ROAD NETWORK : 33 Township Road Completed And 51 Nearing Completion.

Gov. @Ahmedaliyuskt administration has so far constructed and commissioned over 80 different township roads within Sokoto metropolis alone.

An additional 41 township roads are currently being constructed in Sokoto North and South Local Government Areas of Sokoto state.

Just few days ago, Gov. Ahmed Aliyu again awarded contracts for inter- local governments and rural roads covering 168.88 kilometers asphalt and another 187 kilometers of feeder roads across the state.

Some of these roads are;

1- Huci-Gidan Kamba-Lugu junction road

2- Wurno-Kwargaba-Sabon gari road

3- Goronyo-Kirare road

4- Wurno -Tunga- Kagara-Gidan Bango road

5- Prison yard-Yagawal-Nabaguda-Dogon Daji, Birnin Kebbi main road-Hurumi-Gidan faruku road.

6- Gurmun gawo - Garko-Mazangari-Kunkumi, Abbatoir-Hurumi-Lukuyawa road.

7- Kaurar mido kaurar miyo-Abdussalm-Sifawa road.

All these, are part of deliberate efforts to connect the various local governments through road network for enhanced economic and agricultural activities for the rural populace.
