Today, @NTIAgov approved Iowa’s #InternetforAll initial proposal.
This allows the state to tap into $415 million to close the digital divide and meet the Biden-Harris admin’s goal of connecting everyone in America with affordable, reliable, high-speed internet.

“We are seeing demand for infrastructure projects and the development of wind, solar, broadband, storage, and transmission in Iowa thanks to billions of dollars of private-sector investments across Iowa fueled in part by historic federal legislation," she said.
“Across Iowa we are seeing increased demand in the commercial and industrial construction markets,” said Samantha Groark, executive director of Central Iowa Building Trades Council.

The Affordable Connectivity Program, part of the bipartisan infrastructure law, serves more than 123,000 income limited and rural households in Iowa. Families could lose access to work, health care, and education unless Congress reauthorizes the program.

2023 has been a year of investing in all of America and all Americans.
We announced 33,000 infrastructure projects and invested in roads, bridges, rail, ports, internet, and clean water – creating hundreds of thousands of jobs in communities left out for too long.
To spur domestic manufacturing and create U.S. jobs, the $42.5 billion BEAD rural broadband funding program requires awardees to rely primarily on U.S.-made equipment. To date, several major manufacturers have received Buy America authorization. https://t.co/MnRVje6xs8

High-speed internet isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity.
Our bipartisan infrastructure law is funding 35,000 projects across America, including hundreds of projects for high-speed internet.
And to date, 19 million families are saving at least $30 a month thanks to our plan.
