If you're unhappy with kids' entertainment options, turn off the TV and start reading to your kids. Here are some immediate benefits of reading aloud.
1) Shared Adventures: When you adventure together in stories, it can have the same bonding effect as adventures in real life.
You see this especially in kids media
Instead of timeless stories teaching universally agreed upon classic values, our kids are used as pawns in the ideological dustups and hangups of their parents’ generation
Walt Disney the man actually had it right. Disney the corporation…
@MattBeaudreau I think the elephant in the room is the reality that parents actually want to get rid of their kids 6hrs a day. They don't want the responsibility and it's socially acceptable to be selfish with their time (& $) in this way. Those other excuses are smokescreens.
@thriving__kids The cost of fast food alone has always baffled me.
People: I can't afford to eat healthy
Also people: let's eat fast food 5x a week
They purchase poison and pay a premium. Craziness.
Your chances of achieving the life you aspire to is ZERO if you quit.
Success is on the other side of hundreds of failures.
The knockdowns suck for everyone.
That life you want is on the other side of getting back up no matter how many times you hit the ground.

Mentally,
The 'room' isn't confined to four walls; it's your community,…
@SahilBloom I think you're right, but it's even deeper than that.
The trust in institutions is being lost and the trust and sovereignty in households is being recovered.
If you are “struggling” to find your purpose and have anything on your daily calendar that looks or smells like scrolling, Netflix, video games, or other passive entertainment…

Thank you for reading!

In doing so you pull people up, instead of lowering yourself to them.
Our goal isn't to drag our children up to our standards, but to lift them by our example.
To inspire them to aspire, to encourage them to reach higher.
Let's commit to being the role models our children deserve.
To raising the bar, not just for them, but for ourselves.
Because the greatest legacy we can leave is not just well-raised children, but a life well-lived as their example.
