It’s worth noting that Savannah never wanted you gone, but the First Amendment doesn't depend on anyone's permission. What you did, Alex, was bigger than a single moment or a single case. By standing your ground and exercising your constitutional rights, you helped reinforce freedoms that benefit everyone in Tucson. The impact of that will be felt long after this controversy is forgotten.

Every journalist in America should be speaking out against this.
When a government agency uses its power to restrict where reporters can stand, gather news, or document matters of public concern, it’s not just an attack on one reporter ➡️it’s an attack on the First Amendment itself.
Free speech. Free press. Government accountability.
These rights belong to all of us.
If this can happen in Pima County, it can happen anywhere.
The media should be united against any government action that threatens the public’s right to know.

Monica Garcia reporting from in front of Nancy Guthrie’s house, her car parked on the street, and inside information the sheriff was going to make arrests. BTW Monica I saw you driving around the neighborhood about 1 hour before the arrests, snapping photos. I will never watch KVOA again

Regardless of how you feel about the streamers arrested outside Nancy Guthrie's house -- there are real questions about the legality of arresting someone for being a public nuisance on public property.
Hey KVOA Channel 4 News 🐑
Serious question @KVOA:
If a reporter is allegedly given advance notice of an arrest, scouts a location beforehand, confirms a suspect is present, coordinates timing with law enforcement, and then immediately airs a prepared story once the arrest happens… where is the line between journalism and becoming part of the operation?
Media critics often refer to these types of situations as “staged journalism,” “media setups,” or potential media-law enforcement collusion.
The public deserves transparency. Were reporters simply covering the news, or were they given special access and advance coordination that ordinary media outlets and citizens didn’t receive?
Fair question. Fair game. We are watching!
