On National Pediatrician Day, I want to thank the pediatricians who earn families’ trust every day and care for our children from their first days through adulthood. Your work matters.
You don't get to change the facts because you don't like them. What happened in Minneapolis was an act of domestic terrorism.
Acts of domestic terrorism like this should be condemned by every politician and elected official. It shouldn’t be hard or remotely controversial.
MIssissippi's largest synagogue destroyed in an arson attack on the Sabbath. The fact this isn't the biggest story of the morning, or the day so far, should tell you just how normalized anti-Semitic action is becoming.

WOW! Not only does this latest footage confirm that Renee Good had no animosity toward ICE agent Jonathan Ross and that she was steering her car away from him as he was filming with his phone.
It also confirms that Ross shot Good in the face with one hand while filming her with his smart phone in the other hand.
And no, he wasn't hit by the vehicle. That sound you hear is his gun shooting.
Objectively false.
The only way you get to "72 shots" in the USA is dishonestly counting each antigen of combination vaccines like MMR or DTAP as 3 "shots" per dose while counting 18 annual flu vaccines most kids don't receive (and which aren't mandated in any K-12 school) and counting the oral vaccine, rotavirus, as a "shot."
The only way you get to "11 shots" in Denmark is to dishonestly count Denmark's combination shots as one single shot, the exact opposite way the USA was counted.
Counting each antigen in a combination vaccine as a separate “shot,” Denmark’s routine childhood programme delivers roughly 48–50 "shots" by age 12, depending on whether the child gets 2 or 3 HPV doses.
Secondly, the reason Denmark has better health & life expectancy has nothing to do with not vaccinating for diseases like rotavirus or chickenpox. They actually have MORE hospitalizations because of this.
It's mainly because of government sponsored healthcare, paid sick leave, paid childcare, paid paternal care, less poverty while Denmark is among the highest income equality countries in the world.
Denmark's preventable mortality rate is 120 per 100,000, below the OECD average and far under USA levels (typically 200+), due to better primary care access.
Denmark actually has higher vaccination RATES than the USA which also helps!

Another day, another set of lies and propaganda being promulgated by the Surgeon General of Florida (and tenured professor at the University of Florida). And thanks to UFs snazzy new Orwellian double-speak “institutional neutrality” policy, leadership will remain silent.
Congratulations to ACIP for restoring sanity! Did you know the hepatitis B vaccines given to babies in the U.S. were approved by the FDA based on less than a week of safety data? Yes, absurd. Thank you, ACIP!
Awful self-inflicted wound for the nation. Today our federal govt gleefully condemned thousands of kids each year to chronic hepatitis and liver cancer, by denying them a vaccine invented in America, using microbial fermentation, our least expensive and safest technology
The sequel to We Want Them Infected is done!
COVID killed 1.2 million Americans while vaccines saved millions.
Yet, disinformation superspreaders were empowered, where they are taking a wrecking ball to science & medicine.
How did that happen?🧵

@mcuban@costplusdrugs This is a very bad look for you, @mcuban. @costplusdrugs is a brilliant business model and a generous gift you have provided to Americans, please don’t sully it by validating Trump and RFK Jrs pseudoscience.
@JaffeJodyBeth a far too often told story. I hope he is doing well and thriving despite the initial misdiagnosis and other challenges of living with T1D. If he has kids of his own please be sure he has them screened for autoantibodies via @T1D_TrialNet
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) knows no boundaries—but access to screening and post-diagnostic care does. [1,2] Adolescents and young adults in rural communities are at greater risk of delayed diagnosis of T1D, often presenting with life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). [2] Research shows that living far from specialized care and lacking access to technologies can lead to worse health outcomes. [2] And these challenges don’t stop there—they’re compounded for those facing language barriers or financial hardships. [1,3]
Research published in 2023 in the Journal of Pediatric Health Care found that delayed referral and diagnosis in rural areas negatively affected T1D management, creating health inequities. [2] This delay often stems from limited access to specialized care or awareness of T1D symptoms among primary care providers. [2]
And a 2023 study published in Frontiers in Clinical Diabetes and Healthcare found that individuals with limited English language proficiency had a significantly higher HbA1c than those not needing an interpreter. [1] Language barriers and rural residence can correlate to lower health literacy, poorer glycemic control, and delayed interventions for T1D. [1] And it’s a double whammy when someone faces the simultaneous challenge of a language barrier and living in a rural setting. [4]
We can do more, and we must do more, to bend these trends by advocating for vigilance in T1D, screening for those with potential risk AND advocating for clear, plain-language educational information and broader access to specialized care for those impacted.
I’ve been engaged by Sanofi to highlight the importance of taking action to screen for T1D, what we can do to support patients who may be at risk, and when to advocate for them. Check out https://t.co/TpM4SwtSty [https://t.co/YVwZBZyGWg] for more information you can share with your patients, and tools in multiple languages!! Together, we can transform how T1D is diagnosed. Let’s make screening the new standard of care!

Did we all take organic chemistry & the MCAT & miss the social part of our early 20’s and work 80 hours a week for 3+ years for the brain worm guy who doesn’t know what a p-value is to destroy our nation’s public health system? No.
Time to lean into our expertise and speak up.
In Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, doublespeak is language used to control the population through manipulation and distortion of the truth. The term refers to language that makes the negative seem positive, conceals or prevents thought, and creates an incongruity between words and reality to deceive and control the listener. #goldstandardscience #radicaltransparency
More public health malpractice and lies from Ladapo. Pertussis vaccines are 80-90% effective in preventing transmission. What will it take for @UF to at least censure him and preferably revoke his faculty status.
Florida Surgeon General Dr Joseph Ladapo tells @jaketapper that the pertussis vaccine doesn’t work. That’s incorrect. The DTaP vaccine is 98% effective at preventing infection at 1 year and 71% effective at 5 years.
