On this anniversary of the #TiananmenMassacre, the most moving thing I read was this reflection by Nobel Peace Prize Winner Liu Xiaobo, reflecting on his own behavior and responsibility, in light of such a tragedy

37th Anniversary of Tiananmen Square Massacre
@BobFu4China — former Tiananmen student leader and ChinaAid President — shares how God’s providence spared his life just three days before the 1989 massacre.
What man meant for evil, God turned into the largest spiritual revival in modern Chinese history among university students, professors, and intellectuals.
Despite intensified persecution today, Dr. Fu remains optimistic: “A bigger revival is ahead of us.”

Tiananmen Square : 37 years after its massacre of pro democracy protesters in Tiananmen Square, the CCP tries to air brush memory from public discourse. But we remember the atrocity and the heroism - symbolised by the courage and defiance of tank man. Later today, to mark the anniversary of Tiananmen, I will introduce my Private Members Bill in @UKHouseofLords on Genocide Determination- upholding the suffering Uyghur people of Xinjiang - and this afternoon I will open a three hour debate in @UKParliament on genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes- taking place all over world. @iguangcheng@BobFu4China@hk_watch@Stand_with_HK@thecfhk@Chloe_chc_25@ipacglobal

37 years. But there is no forgetting—or giving up on the goal of accountability for #China govt officials responsible for the #6489 #June4#TiananmenMassacre, in which #PLA opened fire on unarmed protesters.

Bob Fu Calls for Religious Freedom in China on Tiananmen Anniversary
A Prayer of Remembrance
Dr. Bob Fu, former Tiananmen student leader and ChinaAid President, shares how God spared his life three days before the 1989 massacre and turned tragedy into the largest spiritual revival in modern Chinese history.
He calls on the Church to pray boldly for true religious freedom in China, the first freedom upon which all others rest.
Stand with the persecuted church. Support the fight for freedom of religion in China.

For 37 years, #JimmyLai refused to let the world forget Tiananmen Square. The massacre didn't just move him; it transformed him entirely. He used his clothing company to stand up for student protesters, helped smuggle dissidents to safety, built a free press that refused to be silenced, and showed up on June 4 to light a candle in Victoria Park. Tiananmen shaped everything he did from 1989 onward. It still does, even while he remains wrongfully detained in prison.
We call for his immediate release. #FreeJimmyLai
With the anniversary of the Tiananmen massacre coming up tonight, @MinjianArchives publishes an excerpt from @liaoyiwu1 forthcoming book on Liu Xiaobo and the Tiananmen Mothers--a moving account of survivor guilt and dealing with trauma.

37th Anniversary of June 4, 1989 – Tiananmen Square
Today we remember the innocent students and citizens who were cut down in Tiananmen Square thirty-seven years ago while peacefully calling for democracy and an end to corruption. Their innocent blood still cries out from the ground; even from the very soil where President Trump recently stood.
A Prayer of Remembrance
Heavenly Father, God of justice and mercy, we lift before You the victims of June 3–4, 1989. Comfort every grieving family. Strengthen pastors, church leaders, and prisoners of conscience still suffering today under severe persecution. Turn their trials into seed for a mighty harvest.
We do not grieve without hope. The same God who turned the cross into resurrection is still at work. Let us continue in prayer and advocacy until China knows the freedom that comes from the Prince of Peace.

.@rightsmetrics Initiative East Asia spokesperson Patrick Poon, who was previously a court reporter in Hong Kong, said if the world wanted to do business with China, it should have to respect human rights.
"Remember the Tiananmen mothers who lost their sons and daughters, and some of them died without getting justice," he said.
"We have to hold the Chinese government accountable for what they did over 30 years ago; we should not let them get away with it."

Part 3 of my profile of Pastor Yang Hua of Living Stone Church in Guiyang. His trajectory is particularly emblematic of the Christian movement in China. He experienced every stage of its evolution from rural to urban over the last 40 years. On top of that, his family's history of faith can be traced back to the China Inland Mission. https://t.co/Wdfk4ljJcW
Deeply honored to receive this award on June 4, a day that reminds us of the courage of Tiananmen.
This award belongs to the generations who came before me—those who marched for freedom in #HongKong & #China and are bearing the cost of freedom. Nothing will stop me from fighting.
On @NEWSMAX, Claire Lai explained why her father founded Apple Daily, and why he never backed down as the pressure mounted.
"The more pressure they got, whether it's from friends turning away or from ads falling or even from firebombs outside the house, the more he knew he would take it in stride because he knew he was doing the right thing." — Claire Lai
