Last night, two RCMP Members in Saskatchewan were shot and injured while responding to a call for service in their community. We are wishing a full and speedy recovery to the officers and strength to their families and colleagues as they recover physically and mentally.
Every day, RCMP Members put themselves on the line to protect us. They run towards danger when all others run from it. This violence cannot become something we normalize, excuse, or ignore.
We stand firmly with all Members and the policing community against this kind of violence and in holding those injured in our hearts and thoughts as they recover.

Earlier today, an SPVM officer was murdered, and another injured following a horrifying and tragic shooting in Montreal. This is another brutal, intolerable act of violence against people who move into danger while the rest of us run away.
Violence against first responders is despicable. It is cowardly. It must end now.
Every day, police officers and other first responders follow their oath to put themselves at measured risk and uncertainty to keep our communities safe. They, like all of us, deserve to go home to their families at the end of their shift. They deserve the highest level of protection and safety. No compromise, and no excuses.
This has been a horrific and tragic month for police across the country with violence killing police officers in Ontario, Toronto, Saskatchewan, and Montreal. This is a troubling trend that demands attention.
We mourn the officer killed on duty and extend our hearts and best wishes to his family and also to the officer injured. We wish them a speedy and full recovery. We stand with the family and colleagues of these SPVM officers, the Fraternité des policiers et policières de Montréal (@FPPM_), and the entire Montreal police community. We also demand better support for every first responder putting their life on the line today and every day.
Please thank the police in your community who are all reeling from these terrible losses.

Today, we recognize RCMP Members who are fathers, as well as the fathers, mentors, role models, and caregivers whose guidance, strength, and support help shape our lives.
To our Members who are fathers, thank you for the sacrifices you make every day, as you balance commitment to your families with your commitment to serving and protecting communities across the country. While many are spending today with loved ones, some of you are on duty, answering the call and putting service before self.
At home and in uniform, your leadership, compassion, and example leave a lasting impact.
Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the countless ways you make a difference.
Happy Father’s Day. 💙

Albertans already have a say in how RCMP policing works here. The Province should let Albertans have a direct say in what comes next.

Your Province. Your Voice. Your RCMP.
Behind the uniform, many RCMP Members are dads first.
They’re showing up for their communities and then heading home to show up for their kids, too.
This Father’s Day, we’re thinking about all the Alberta dads working to keep their communities and families safe.

“We literally increased the number of ballots, mandated they had to be counted by hand within a certain time period, but it just doesn’t make any sense that 10X the workload would cost more”

Outstanding work by the Kelowna RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit. A months-long investigation led to coordinated search warrants across Kelowna and West Kelowna, taking roughly 5 kg of suspected illicit drugs — and 15 kg of fentanyl cutting agent — off our streets, along with $55,000 in cash and luxury goods tied to the trade.
Disrupting mid- and high-level traffickers protects whole communities from the harm organized crime causes. My thanks to all of the officers involved. This is exactly the kind of proactive enforcement that makes a difference.

We remember Cst. Elwood Joseph Keck, Cst. Gordon Eric Pedersen, and Cst. Donald George Weisgerber, who passed away in one of the RCMP’s worst one-day losses ever, on June 18, 1962. The three Members responded to a report of a game warden being threatened by a man with a rifle, with both Cst. Pedersen and Cst. Keck on duty, and off-duty Cst. Weisgerber deciding to join them. When the Members encountered the man, a foot race ensued and the men exchanged fire, resulting in the loss of life of all three constables. The man was pursued and tracked down by other RCMP officers following the incident, ultimately resulting in his death. #RCMPNeverForget

Nous nous souvenons des gendarmes Cst. Elwood Joseph Keck, Cst. #GRCoublionsjamais
