As an anecdote, last week, Joshua Maponga had an accident on his way to Kwekwe. Speaking from Arundel Hospital, he lamented the fact that after his accident, he spent over 4 hrs waiting by the roadside for emergency services on that stretch of road. Once the ambulance arrived, Maponga was taken to a private hospital called Arundel, owned by Kuda Tagwirei, all the way in Harare—skipping a number of government hospitals in Kwekwe, Chegutu and even Harare—simply because none of them could provide proper emergency care.
Sanctions on Zimbabwe were removed on March 4, 2024, so why do we still not have adequate ambulances and emergency services in our public hospitals for any class of person to get quality care?
The reason we fought to remove sanctions was to enable our government to sign lease agreements to lease ambulances with well‑resourced fleet managers in Zimbabwe or South Africa (they don’t have to buy them cash), so that we’d have enough ambulances in every town and city to save lives in emergencies. Our government can afford monthly instalments for a huge fleet of ambulances and fire trucks.
We also did it so that our government could import the latest medical equipment from anywhere in the world, which they can do now since sanctions are gone.
So where’s the problem? The problem is that since ZANU PF got another mandate in the 2023 elections and since sanctions were removed in March 2024, our leaders have spent more time focused on promoting 2030 than buying ambulances. So, how would you rate the President’s delivery on healthcare: excellent, good, fair, bad, or poor? Does he deserve a term extension?
None of them have the quality to improve Arsenal FC. They will just perform at the level of the players we have or will need time to adapt to the playing style.
We need to make statement signings like Mbappe, Vitinha, Raphinha etc. Players who have won major trophies.
If we are to sign a player from Newcastle it would be Bruno Guimarães, Tonali has nothing on Zubimendi. Rafael Leao is a downgrade, 9 Goals and 3 Assists in Italy is underwhelming. Martinelli and Trossard have better numbers. Nothing elite there.
We need to make statements like City did when they got Halaand.
All those players are not upgrades.
Tonali will not improve what we already have.
Fernandez might be a good squad player especially in cup competitions.
Williams - just another Martinelli.
Alvarez- Cannot score 30 goals in a season. At best he will be like Gyokeres 20 goals and 4 Assists.
If you want to upgrade go for elite talent like
Kane
Mbappe
That PSG LW
Velverde
Top players who know how to win the biggest trophies.

I am a representative of the people of Kadoma. I was elected to represent them, not to surrender their sovereignty.
In our community conversations, - at after church meetings, during interactions at funerals and weddings, in engagements with parents at school functions, In the streets, and even at our local gym - the message from the citizens is clear:
“Mwanangu, panyaya yeBumbiro, tambai nezvimwe; chitupa hachiwachigwi!”
For these reasons and many other, and in fidelity to the people of Kadoma and the Constitution of Zimbabwe, I CANNOT support this Bill.
Saka nhasi kutogwa naro chaizvo…
I have regularly warned my followers who have young daughters to be very careful about the men around them. There is a sickening culture in Zimbabwe, and elsewhere, where some older men prey on young girls. They could be family friends, uncles, neighbours, teachers, religious leaders, or even the boyfriend of a child’s mother.
As I have often said, when I made State of Mind, the documentary film on mental health in 2017 and 2018 following the work of Dr Dixon Chibanda, I interviewed many women who shared horrific stories of sexual abuse and exploitation by men who abused positions of trust and authority. Some were bosses, some were relatives, and others were family friends who took advantage of their access to vulnerable young girls.
This is a tragic and often under-discussed problem. There are far too many predatory men who groom children and young women before abusing them. Grooming often takes place over months or even years, making it difficult for victims and those around them to recognise what is happening until significant harm has already been done.
Only two weeks ago, I was telling you about cases I have come across involving women who found themselves in exploitative relationships with men who had used authority, influence, or trust to gain control over them. These included situations involving a father’s close friend who had known the girl since childhood, or employers who exploited their positions of power in the workplace.
Parents and guardians must be vigilant about the people they allow around their children. Trust should never be given blindly simply because someone is a relative, a friend, or a respected member of the community. Many of the most disturbing cases involve people who were already known to the family.
Well done to this woman for helping expose this paedophile. I hope justice is served and that, if convicted, he spends a very long time behind bars. More importantly, I hope this case encourages other victims and families to come forward and report those who prey on children.
The tragedy is that, as I have often observed, when we discuss and write about these issues, some of the most disturbing responses come from the comment sections. There, you often find sick minds and sick men defending this kind of behaviour, minimising it, excusing it, or even blaming the victims.
What makes this particularly alarming is that these are people expressing such views openly and publicly, without shame. If someone can publicly defend the abuse or exploitation of a child, it raises serious questions about what they might be willing to tolerate, excuse, or do when there is no public scrutiny.
The comment sections often serve as a reminder that the problem is not limited to the perpetrators who are caught. There are also people in society who normalise, justify, and enable such behaviour through their attitudes and responses. That is why it is so important to challenge these views whenever they appear and to continue speaking out in defence of children and vulnerable young women.
After almost seven years at this club, it’s hard to put into words what this moment means to me.
I arrived at this club when I was 18 years old. Far from home, barely speaking the language, trying to adapt to a completely new culture, new life and chasing a dream that felt so big at the time.
I didn’t know exactly what the future would hold, but I knew I wanted to give everything for this club.
We didn’t just build a team, we built a family, an identity, and something the fans could believe in again. To see this club back where it belongs is one of the proudest moments of my career.
I want to thank my family, thank everyone at the club, the staff, my teammates, and every person working behind the scenes. Most importantly, thank you to the fans. Your support, patience and love throughout these years never went unnoticed. You stayed with us through the difficult moments, and this title belongs to you as much as anyone.
This club changed my life. I will always be grateful for the privilege of wearing this shirt.

@Uyoyodude@AnythingArs_ We need to remember history correctly. I leave that here.
Declan Rice will be Arsenal Captain one day. That day is not far away. For now let Martin do the job he was elected to do.
