@FPLFella In some circumstances you would be worse off (if you were at a particular point v the thresholds (and didn't use taxable benefits to mitigate the downsides). Also, if taking on more responsibility (normal for pay rises) you're looking for a lot more than just not being worse off
@WestminsterWAG@LucyMPowell@andyburnham It's actually quite reassuring to see some selection by academic merit. As opposed to selection by wealth which is what the current system has descended to,where access to a decent school is driven primarily by what postcode you can afford to live in.
@SamJRushworth Instead you're asking us to trust your own gut instincts as to what motivates people and how graduates act. Not many takers for that I'm afraid......
@SamJRushworth Are you really so stupid that you don't think people will weigh up extra responsibilities v pay rise net of ALL taxes to judge the true benefit. Trying to separate 1 element from the bigger picture is pure gaslighting. Of course the 9% could tilt you in favour of the status quo
@JenniferJS_@andyburnham That didn't take long !!!
Just wait till next week's polls - which will reflect the fact that everyone has seen that he's just p*ssed off on holiday after 2 weeks work, with confusion reigning back at base and all the big issues no further forward 😂
@andrew_lilico You're just trying to create a reality/truth that you want to be the case.........without any evidence. Whenever a poll says what you want it to say you don't hesitate to use it to self-justify.
@RupertLowe10 Refreshing to at least see a motivation to reduce taxes & the associated state control of all our lives. Will it add up at this stage ? Of course not, but is a much preferable direction to ever more state interference & ever more admin layers to (corruptly & uselessly) run it all
