It was so strange. I noticed it early on as it was unfolding. The patterns were very clear; the phrases were identical. I thought, this can't possibly be spontaneous; some core group must be orchestrating it. I thought, if one could just find out where this one phrase first appeared, surely one could map out the network of connections and discover the source.

You could see it if you read epidemiological papers before and compared them to papers after. It was as though history had started all over.

But then, because everything that was said and done - in the media, institutions, all power centers - was always filtered through the invariant of "must destroy Trump at all costs", perhaps orchestration was not necessary. One thinks of George Carlin's aphorism: "You don't need a formal conspiracy when interests converge."

So perhaps the phrases were taken up and disseminated like a virus, rather than emanating from a single source. Or it could have been a combination of orchestration and predisposition.

I own a small LLC that contracts with a CA company. I'm gay, but I've always resisted registering as an LGBT-owned business because the idea seems ludicrous to me. In 2023 their HR sent me a diversity questionnaire, which stated that if I *didn't* fill it out, they wouldn't pay my invoices. Thankfully, I was not required to send a bedroom selfie.

I'm not sure how a group whose foremost achievement has been the expansion of the institution of marriage, as well as concomitant adoption rights, merits a blanket characterization as hostile toward civilization and families.

Bill Clinton expanded pride to a month in 1999. The convergence/mainstreaming of woke/trans occurred over the past 5 years. So you're compressing a decades-long "expansion" and reacting to relatively recent phenomena.

I think that many of us who fought for marriage retired from activism, trusting that the younger generations could take the wheel and ... what could go wrong? Oh boy.

Most gay people simply don't know about WPATH or the extent to which the movement has been hijacked by trans militants, nor about how the excesses of pride are eroding what has been built. The few of us who have had our eyes opened are horrified. I've been speaking out, but the cost is high: ostracism, isolation. That's why I'm here on X now and nowhere else.

But I am seeing more and more resistance of late. I'm more optimistic than I was 5 years ago. I think you're right, though: it's people like me - the minority within the minority - that are best suited to push back, if we can just find one other and band together.

When I was on gay social media I got exhausted defending conservatives and Christians. Now on X I'm arguing with conservatives and Christians, not because they're hating on the gays, but because they're doing it wrong.

It isn't. It's related to "I'll post a news story guaranteed to stir up a hate fiesta and get lots of views." A minimal google search would show that there is no evidence of a connection, nor any evidence that gays are more likely than nongays to commit child abuse. I know because I did a minimal google search.
