@MathMemeTeam I notice many stereotypes or beliefs imbedded in the memes. Math is boring or not relevant…girls cannot do math…Asians are better at math than most.
HIIII all, it is time for our monthly collage discussion! We will start our live discussion at 6 p.m.(EST)/5 p.m.(CST), please join us!
Here will be our collage. ⬇️
@MathMemeTeam I would share all of these with my students when appropriate. Each has value is visually highlighting math content and/or beliefs. I would also share with my “math” friends and colleagues.
@MathMemeTeam I could see how these could spark thoughtful discourse of math concepts and thinking within the classroom when implemented appropriately.
Hey there! Now we are opening the collage for live discussion. Let's do a quick icebreaking. Who are you, what do you do, and why are you here? Are you ready?

@MathMemeTeam Definitely share the cow meme! It makes math more visual and it’s in a context I personally resonate with since my dad is a cattle farmer 🧑🌾
@MathMemeTeam These memes have math content that could easily be infused into the class to help increase class discussion around such math content. I am left wondering why the need for such a heated debate about who is right in two of the memes…
@MathMemeTeam@xnaman_ @Tommy_Sherlby @hxlywood@akarable I’m left wondering why so many ppl find math boring or a class worth sleeping in? What are their teachers actually teaching…problem solving or rules and procedures?
