@WhitStillman I "met" Victor Mature around 1981 when I was 13 or 14 & visiting Rancho Santa Margarita. I was finishing a round of golf & was PISSED cuz I left a long putt way short. He was watching (I had no idea who he was) and he complimented me on my stroke. I was told after who he was.

@WhitStillman Amazing. Quite a few years ago I saw a documentary on America's air war over Germany in WW II & was stunned that all these guys knew they had little chance of coming back alive. I was even more stunned when one of the interview subjects was Andy Rooney, who flew w/his own group.

@WhitStillman Whit, have you ever watched the Brideshead Revisited mini series from decades ago? I have it and started watching it after all these years (never read the book) & read a summary... I'm totally bummed about how it ends (his conversion). Very depressing. Thoughts?
