To the Australian Government, Australia is such a small market for those companies it’s unlikely they’d even bother as they’ll simply stop shipping here. Well done, protectionism always works....not.
The governments GST on goods you buy from overseas stores is even more laughable than first thought. They expect all overseas companies that ship to Australia to register for GST (paying $1000 to do so).
Well done Australian Government, artists are already feeling the impact of your protectionist policy of charging GST on overseas purchases. Overseas suppliers of parts needed, but unavailable in Australia, are stopping their shipping to Australia.
This is surprising: since the 1960’s, the failure rate of tech projects has consistently stayed at 35% - ie approx 1 in 3 projects fail
Given how many more apps and cowboy startups there are, I expected an increased failure rate over time #unexpected@prototypo
