🚨 PORTFOLIO UPDATE 🚨
Actuary by day. Part-time degen by night.
Here we go!
Thought I'd share where I'm currently at in my investing journey and my road to $1M.
Trading 212 - S&S ISA
This is my ISA port, which I've been building since the start of 2025.
I'm mainly invested in AI, its picks and shovels plays and space stocks. Yessss I love Rocket MONEY - $RKLB, $PLTR, $NVDA and $HOOD.
The port has been held back a bit recently by my exposure to photonics stocks. I'm still optimistic about the long term potential and hoping we see a much better 2027 for these plays.
Options Trading Account
I started options trading around October last year, so I'm pretty happy with how things have gone so far.
With options, I like to keep things simple. I genuinely believe simple = success.
I mainly focus on selling CC and CSP on a handful of stocks I have strong conviction in.
I want to own companies I actually believe in, rather than chasing every opportunity that comes along that yields high premiums.
One thing I'm learning and trying to control is that it's easy to get tempted by whatever is performing best right now. But just because something has worked for a year doesn't mean it'll keep working. Something I'm trying to remind myself of!
NOW HERE'S MY DILEMMA.....
Seeing how my options trading has been going is genuinely tempting me to move more money across from my ISA. Plus I'm not tempted to put anymore money into my 20k ISA allowance. Wild stuff.
Part of me is even thinking about going full port into options. Yeah like a degen.
But then again, am I just getting carried away by the recent performance?
Both portfolios have different strategies and risks, so it's not exactly a straightforward decision.
So do I stay patient with my ISA investment, or do I lean more towards investing into options?
I'd love to hear what you lot think, especially anyone who's been in a similar position.
THE ROAD TO £1M
One of the reasons I started Hand of Compound was to document the actual journey towards financial freedom. Not just the final results, but the decisions, lessons and dilemmas along the way.
I'm still learning, and hopefully we can all learn something from each other. If you're on your own investing journey, or just interested in building a better financial future, come along for the ride!
Let's learn, grow and build wealth together.
Not financial advice. Just sharing my journey.
🚨🚨🚨 What a brutal week for tech stocks!! Is the AI bubble finally starting to crack, or is this another buying opportunity? 🚨🚨🚨
Friday's market is officially closed, and there's quite a bit to unpack.
Here's what happened:
Major US indexes (Friday):
- Nasdaq: -2.15%
- S&P 500: -1.09%
- Dow Jones: -0.34%
The Nasdaq finished the week down a massive 4.5%. Is a 10 handle coming?
Some of the biggest stories:
AI stocks getting hammered: $AMD fell 6%, $INTC 5.8%, $MU 5.6% and $AVGO 4.5%. Investors are starting to question whether all this AI spending will actually deliver the profits everyone expects.
$CRWV dropped around 12% as investors are becoming worried about how much money the company has borrowed to build its AI infrastructure and whether it can afford to pay that debt back.
Oil is back above $100:
Brent crude jumped 3.7% to nearly $110 as Middle East tensions continue. Not exactly what we need when inflation is already a problem.
Inflation and interest rates: This week's hotter than expected inflation numbers have increased concerns that the Fed may raise rates again.
I'm still bullish on AI in the long term, but I do think the market is starting to question the crazy valuations and spending we're seeing.
Imo, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Not every company riding the AI wave is going to be a winner.
I'll be keeping an eye on earnings next week, $TSLA and $META.
For now, I'm staying patient, managing my risk and looking for opportunities in companies I have strong conviction in.
1. $CRWV - debt issue has caused the whole AI trade to be nervous
2. Hot inflation data - macro are bad
3. Interest rate hike
4. No end in sight for war with Iran
5. Oct is a bad month for stocks in general
6. Mid term election= uncertainty and you know what that means with stocks not liking this
Just a few of the things to give you an idea as to why
@manvankaliber Working hard on anything will get you places. Same applies to markets. Just apply ourselves into our interest, it will feel like fun rather than a chore.
🚨🚨 Portfolio update 🚨🚨🚨
Been making a few moves in my SIPP and ISA accounts.
Bought $NBIS at $169
Added MORE $ONDS to my existing position at $6.10
Sold a cash-secured put (CSP) on $RKLB strike price $45
Continuing to build my positions in companies I believe have good long term potential.
Anyone else been buying or adding to their positions in the last few days?

I am planning on some slick skills we as investors can train ourselves onto by practice. I'm getting my notes sorted so I can start sharing it here. This is number 1 rules to know before getting into options. Should launch soon, keep an eye out. And please ask your mentor to challenge me on things I propose. Keen to learn from a more experienced option trader/ investor.

Also a massive thanks to:
@TheFrankzy@ApesAlphaHQ@LongGameEquity@Alphacoreinvest
Just to be clear, this isn't a ranking or anything like that.
These are simply some of the people I've interacted with most over the last week. Please don't feel left out if I haven't tagged you.
They both get treated the same. Have the same conviction and stocks. The only nuance is that SIPP has 40% S&P and 60% stocks. In ISA it's 100% stocks. I am tempted to remove my ISA completely and full porting this into my option trading account as I am doing better with that then in the ISA account
