The @Tesla Cybercab is the first ever Tesla to be front-wheel drive.
• 300 miles of range (expected)
• 219 (163 kW) drive unit
• 165 Wh/mi efficiency
Cybercab is fully optimized for low cost, high-utilization Robotaxi operations.
A decade after early predictions of widespread automated driving failed to materialize, the global regulatory landscape has reached a decisive milestone: @UNECE has adopted the first-ever global rules allowing fully autonomous vehicles.
What is better than seeing a bunch of Cybercabs at Giga Texas? How about 10 driving on the Test Track in a large pack?
I was just in time to capture this testing underway. To my knowledge this is the largest group of Cybercabs on the track at any given time so far!
On the 1-year anniversary of the @robotaxi service going live, I think this is encouraging to see … I hope soon we see these out on the streets taking paying passengers, scaling the @Robotaxi service fleet up & expanding to new locations.
Colorado Tesla drivers: every mile you drive on Full Self-Driving (Supervised) now costs 50% less to insure. Lemonade Autonomous Car is live in CO.

First time trying out Actually Smart Summon on the @Tesla Cybertruck!
It can now pick you up in front of your location like your own personal valet. It’s crazy to see a pickup truck driving without anyone in it. It works incredibly well.

Vlaanderen omarmt innovatie!

GOOD NEWS 🇺🇸 Tesla is officially authorized by the State of Texas to operate driverless vehicles commercially 💥
The company's dedicated subsidiary, Tesla Robotaxi, LLC, has successfully secured its Automated Motor Vehicle Operator credential 🚖
Passed by the 89th Texas Legislature, Senate Bill 2807 establishes the definitive regulatory framework for these commercial operations. Its implementing provisions dictate that all companies must maintain an active authorization with the TxDMV, a mandate that officially became enforceable on May 28, 2026 🏛️
Within this legal framework, Texas defines an "Automated Driving System" (ADS) as hardware and software capable of managing the entire dynamic driving task on a sustained basis via Level 3, Level 4, or Level 5 automation. Because Tesla is deploying these vehicles completely driverless without human safety monitors in the front seats, the state’s authorization inherently certifies that the technology meets SAE Level 4 standards 🆒
By meeting these stringent requirements, Tesla is formally validating the system's autonomous capabilities. This milestone officially transitions the underlying technology from supervised testing into a fully legal, revenue-generating ride-hailing service across the state 👏
To initiate this commercial phase, Texas Department of Motor Vehicles filings confirm there are currently 42 registered and authorized vehicles in the active fleet. This foundational legal clearance allows Tesla to immediately begin monetizing these units while laying the groundwork to rapidly expand its ride-hailing network into major markets like Dallas and Houston 🚀
