High level visits from Senior Military Authorities #USINDOPACOM in #SouthAsia
1. Starting tomorrow, Senior US Military Official, Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, the Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command, is scheduled to visit Nepal for three days. The three days program starting 12 February includes high level meetings, visit to Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre, a partnering organization with US based charity Peace Operations Training Institute.

2. USINDOPACOM has over 75 years of defence relationship in Nepal, primarily in areas of humanitarian assistance, disaster preparedness and peacekeeping.

3. USINDOPACOM’s interest in the Indo-Pacific have been visible from the Himalayan State to Bay of Bengal.

The intensified US military interests in the region were recently observed in #Bangladesh. Admiral Paparo has been actively pursuing Naval diplomacy in Bangladesh since early 2024 including its international fleet review, strategic initiatives in #MaritimeSecurity, enhancing interoperability and regular defense dialogue garnering full support for #FOIP.
