A friend and I had a debate yesterday at a local university with two Christian Priests concerning the nature of Jesus (عليه السلام).
Alhamdulillah, it was a positive interaction. My guiding principle, as I stated from the very get-go in my introduction, was:
ولا تجادلوا أهل الكتاب الا بالتي هي أحسن.
We made our objections to the divinity of Christ crystal clear, based on both logical and textual evidence, but we did so in a non-hostile manner.

After the debate, I had some small talk with the two priests, and it turned out that one of them was born in Syria but grew up here in Australia. He shared some interesting stories of his early childhood. The other Priest was intrigued by some of the stories I shared of positive interactions early Muslims had with Christians across the globe, especially the first migration of the Sahaba to Ethiopia. It turned out that the Priest had spent quite some time there in his church services.

I also pointed out in my intro and final words that there is undoubtedly a push, especially in the West, to pit Muslims and Christians against each other with the intent that it eventually turns violent. I stated that those pushing for this are Zionists and their agents, who we believe both Muslims and Christians will eventually unite against at the end of times to put a stop to their evil. The Priests agreed that the current online discourse was not helping the situation.

May Allah guide them and us to that which is beloved to Him, and may Allah bless Jesus and his Virgin Mother Mary. Amen.
