The Bible doesn’t say “don’t question prophecy.”

It says “Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast to what is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:20–21)

Prophetic words are meant to be weighed, prayed through, and brought before the Lord… always.

God isn’t offended by testing! He actually commands it.

Testing prophecy doesn’t shut the voice of God down… it helps us steward what He’s actually saying well 🙌🏼

If you are an influential person especially and you fake a prophetic word for the sake of personal gain… straight to ministry jail 👋🏼😅

You’re putting words in God’s mouth and calling it “God said.” Scripture and most importantly the Lord, takes that seriously.

That = taking the Lord’s name in vain.

Prophetic ministry isn’t a shortcut to influence. It’s a stewardship, and it requires fear of the Lord, accountability, and most importantly… Godly character when no one is looking.

What people forget is that prophetic words affect real people.

An immature believer may not know how to test or weigh a word yet… and a reckless “God said” can derail someone’s faith or major life decisions.

That’s why Scripture puts guardrails around prophecy.

My dad made a great point about this today… For those reacting strongly to the events that happened in Venezuela and Nigeria, it’s worth remembering our brothers and sisters in Christ there have been crying out to God for relief and freedom. Many see current events not just politically, but as answers to long standing prayers.
