Spotted: one of my favourites on the wall of my new reg room
If you’re in @NHS_Lothian you can add ‘preferred name’ on TRAK easily on the demographic tab 👍
Food for thought. I frequently use “mum” and “dad” in reports believing it respects the importance of their knowledge and role in the child’s life. Interesting to read the other points of view… note to self: ask a parent what they’d prefer.
I cannot bear it when people call a client’s mother - mum - I told mum / mum feels - I see it creeping into some of my students’ writing and discussions - does anyone have any evidence to back my feeling that this is patronising, disempowering & reinforces unhealthy power dynamic

After 2 years of COVID on TV, now there is new anxiety on those TVs, playing Ukrainian news stories, even in the background. Can I just remind any homes where there are young children: their brains pick up on anxiety & fear in adult voices. That changes their biology.
I had a good 5 minute conversation about switch use with a family. I thought we were on the same page as we spoke about opportunities to use and where… I asked to see the one they had and I was given a Nintendo. 😆😆 #mySLTday
