#Arctic
Narwhals are so frightened by noise, that a ship 40 km away can stop them foraging & makes them use precious energy swimming faster to get away.
This could affect their long-term survival.
So before you book an Arctic cruise, remember - they have nowhere else to go.
Another thrilling encounter with the enormous
Atlantic Bluefin Tuna 🐟
Some of these whoppers are estimated to be around 800kg!
Filmed in South Devon, UK.
Honestly, fuck off @DailyMirror labelling these animals as ‘deadly’. Its their habitat not ours. Don’t incite fear into the country that will result in shite decisions being made.
Come on @broxtowebc, surely there’s ABSOLUTELY NO REASON that you can logically give for the mulching of valuable #wildflowers in one of your green spaces?? Can you honestly say this looks better than it did when it was full of colour and life? Please can we assess your maintenance schedule?
Why can’t you adopt a #NoMowSummer and cut once in September/October?
Today a new SeaWorld park opens in Abu Dhabi. 😡 - https://t.co/Ribycntl40
We are horrified that 24 dolphins have been taken there to live a grim existence in a barren tank purely for so-called 'entertainment'.
Heartbreakingly, this shows how easy it is to open a new dolphinarium if you have the money and resources. And this could happen in the UK as it is not yet illegal to do so.
WDC are fighting to #EndCaptivityForever by making it illegal to hold a dolphin, whale or porpoise in a tank in the UK.
Watch out for the end of the month when something big is coming!
📢📢 The ocean floor is one of the last UNTOUCHED ecosystems on earth.
And the deep sea mining industry wants to DESTROY it - this year!!!
The UK government must join France, Germany and Indigenous Pacific communities and say NO to deep sea mining.
I’m very sorry to report that @CambsCC have approved the felling of 1000 ancient fruit trees within an orchard just outside #Cambridge for a new bus route to…get this…tackle climate change! 😖 Please continue to support @BonkersBusway. It’s not over yet

Will octopus farming take pressure off wild populations of octopuses? Other farmed aquatic species suggest there's little evidence that would happen, rather it could encourage more people to eat octopuses and stimulate demand, some of which would continue to come from the wild 🐙
Can 1 million octopuses a year be ethically raised and slaughtered? I don't think anyone really knows how to.
Octopuses are sentient beings with rich inner lives that scientists are just beginning to understand. They feel pain and pleasure, get bored and (quite possibly dream.
🧊 Ice water slurries causing slow deaths
🐟 Fed dry feed despite being agile hunters
💡 Tanks with other octopuses despite solitary nature
This is what #OctopusFarming will mean for these incredibly intelligent & sentient creatures.

❗️BREAKING❗️ Wellingborough tree protected again!
A tree protector has climbed the same tree in the early hours of this morning that @paulpowlesland climbed yesterday, to stop it being felled. Solidarity with these brave people protecting nature 💚
A question was posed to me, can I show evidence linking trawler bycatch photos to fisheries certified by @MSCecolabel . The image that is most egregious is the double killer whale catch.
