Young people at The Children's Trust organised a brilliant indoor football match yesterday! The children all enjoyed some sporting fun (and a bit of healthy rivalry!) but the match also helped them communicate in a group setting while working on their rehabilitation goals.

Fantastic lunchtime trip to McDonalds with the older Maple CYP. Great practice for recalling learnt information (our orders!), voice work on volume & pace and confidence building in new environments. As well as @beccyslt and her young person using their AAC to order!

For #AACawarenessmonth we held a cake stall where CYP, families and staff ordered with #AAC. Cakes decorated by our CYP on Maple using their AAC and switch adapted mixer! A huge success and we are hoping to turn this into a regular tuck shop! @Childrens_Trust

Yesterday @HannahF91014121 and I took our CYP bowling. Lots of opportunity for #AAC modelling (mostly ‘I think it’s…’ > ‘bad’ for our #SLT bowling skills!!) and supporting communication #participation. Very glad we get to do these fun things together! 🥰
