The #GDAWellbeing team are here to support the mental and physical wellbeing of disabled people across Glasgow, offering free in person and online sessions.
Priority 4: Mental Health and much of the detail was about access to services – long waiting lists and gaps in the provision and delivery of statutory services. Priority 5 closely tied with MH, was Social Isolation and Loneliness - exaccerbated by cuts to community orgs #CPW25
Third ranked was 91% stating Disabled People's Equality & Human Rights is a priority with respondents describing sense of being under attack and deprioritised esp. around benefits and cuts to social care and anti-disability rhetoric "Disabled People are an easy target" #CPW2025
Key concerns from GDA members #CPW2025 include 1/Benefits or potential benefits cuts 96% rated this and cited UK Gov proposals & Green Paper; 2/ 93% said Money was a concern with reports of ple struggling to pay bills, not being able to heat their homes or afford to eat well.
#GDASurvey2025 shows increase in disabled people not being able to access social care to meet their needs – now 75%. 89% also reported inadequate access /unmet health needs - all of this results in health & circumstances deteriorating increasing need for support #Prevention
