It’s pretty amazing to learn from professors who are experts in their field and challenge you and expose you to ideas in an environment explicitly for learning.

For months Ticketmaster has been saying some variation of “resale is not open at this time but may open in the future.” How hard is it to simply say, “Ticketmaster resale will not open for this tour” or “Resale will open in xxx”.

@default_friend And the socioeconomic factors are a big thing. Because forest/waldorf/Montessori screen free childhoods are in some ways indicative of a certain level of wealth. Screen free afternoons at various extra curricular or summer camps can be $$$$.

@default_friend My 12yo kids have no desire for social media because they simply were never exposed to IG/FB/Twitter/Tiktok. The thing my kids yearn for is YouTube & for gaming access in general (Roblox, Fortnite). The desire for a phone is tied way more to gaming access than social media.

@lexs_version I’ve been to MANY concerts and the best one I ever went to was when I went by myself. You can get lost in the music and not really worry about anyone else and it’s really freeing. You’ll have a great time!

@kylascan AOC was doing this back in 2018 before she was sworn into office. She basically vlogged the onboarding process for a new member of congress. I think it’s part of the younger gen of politicians being pretty familiar with the “I talk to you like I’m on a FaceTime call” format.

@AkilahObviously @connorratliff Instead, I am seeing far more small businesses being impacted. And here we all are on this hellscape providing content for Elon Musk. A long weekend boycott of Facebook/Instagram/Tiktok/Twitter is very doable imho for millions of Americans and could scale to longer boycotts.

@AkilahObviously @connorratliff I think it was a mistake not to focus on the tech companies and the biggest corporations that fund Trumps admin like Amazon. Asking people to disengage and stop being ad consumers or create content for Twitter, for IG/Facebook for 3 days is more feasible AND impactful.

@rcobooth I’d really love to know the difference between Gen Z & Gen Alpha on this. It’s only anecdotal, but I volunteer as a school librarian & my own kids are in middle school, and a lot of these Gen Alpha kids (in a mid size urban city) read books. And teachers def assign books to read.
