We are very happy to announce that our BS in #Engineering degree has been accredited by ABET. The accreditation is retroactive to October 2019, so all of our BS graduates can now say they have an ABET accredited degree. Many thx to all those who helped us get here.
The HC Engineering Dept sends out best wishes to HC trustee @Indytrims - wishing him a speedy recovery from his recent back surgery. Hope to see you back on your feet soon, John.
It was @superatvtweet week for our first-year students. Got a tour of SuperATV's new product development facility in Madison, and then a couple of their lead design engineers came to class to describe why they love their jobs. Professor Brooks acts like he wants to join them.
Here they are! Part of @HanoverCollege's Class of 2027. They all experienced the @AliCenter last evening and learned about what made that amazing Louisville native tick. Qualities that are a recipe for anyone's success: confidence, dedication, respect, conviction.
We're going to be busy counting tomorrow as Hanover College's bicentennial class will be arriving on campus and about 10% of them intend to study #Engineering. Word is getting out that @HanoverCollege is a great place to become an engineer!
Our director made his final intern visit of the summer - this time it was to see Erik Perkins at Cincinnati Test Systems. Based on his work there, Erik should find his Fluid Dynamics course this fall to be a snap.
Yesterday our director traveled to the @WestRock corrugated box facility in Mooresville, NC to visit with Nate Campbell who has been an process engineer intern. You would be amazed at the amount and size of equipment needed to produce the humble corrugated paper box!
Today our director visited @h_eads5 at his internship at ADGO in Cincinnati. He's standing in front of a PLC cabinet that he designed and built for a waste water treatment plant.
Dr Phillips got to visit today with Jessica Djessa and Al-Ameen Salaudeen who are doing engineering internships at @CertainTeed in Carroll County Kentucky. They have been writing operating procedures for the production of gypsum wall board. Another thing HC engineers can do!
We had seven #Engineering students on the HC #baseball team this past season. That's not nearly enough! We want an entire lineup of engineers, so if you are interested in studying engineering at an @ABETaccredit school and in playing baseball, check out this opportunity.
A big thank you to @BronesHuber and @DukeEnergy Foundation for a grant which allowed us to buy materials for our summer engineering academy for high school students this week. Soldering kits, solar cars, thermal imaging cameras, @arduino microcontrollers, and more!
Beaming with pride after watching 12 of our seniors walk across the stage to receive their Engineering degrees. Some will be starting jobs this week or next month while others are going on for an MS, MBA, or PhD, but no matter where they're going, they're headed for success!
@SteveMillerOC We'd be happy to have any of these students in our program. Thanks to a sizeable endowment we can offer substantial financial aid, and we will meet them where they are on their writing skills and help them improve. Have them contact our director, Dr. Jeff Phillips.
We spy Engineering major Nina Jazdzewski in that group of champions. She's almost as fast on the track as she is at solving Calculus problems! Congratulations to Nina and all her teammates.
We are so very proud of our senior, Rio Takagi. In addition to being the Engineering honors student, he was also named the Physics honors student, received an award for best ethics essay college-wide, and was awarded the Crowe citation for outstanding scholarship & character.
Academic achievements were celebrated during Hanover’s 86th-annual Honors Convocation. Seniors Allison Andrews, Raechel Long, Rio Takagi and Wyatt Warner received the College’s highest student awards. https://t.co/SSMuR9o2HB
Our Engineering students were all over the lacrosse field today. Dirk Meinhart & Daveion Sims were honored at Senior Day. Jr. Zach Stone scored 4 goals, while first-year student Colin "OB" O'Brien netted 3. Fellow first-years Matthew Hillard & Josh Adams also saw action.
Engineering Science AND Art & Design senior @cal_wilder25 presented her capstone art project this evening. Do we have talented students in our program? Yes, we certainly do!
