@A_Porcupine I remember the time the iPhone shipped with wireless charging, and we had to go dig out the Qi chargers from some hidden cupboard in the Techstop, because the Nexus / Pixel phones had dropped the the year prior.
My experience on Mastodon is becoming increasingly more interesting as more of the people I follow establish a presence there. At this point it’s far outweighing Twitter for me.
For the rest of you, I sincerely hope to see you there one day.

Yes I’m aware Twitter accounts can be private these days diminishing my point, yes I’m aware Reddit is still out there.
But by and large the open web, browsable by anyone, is becoming increasingly less popular.
What used to be public forms, are now private chat apps.
The potential death of Twitter brings us closer to the end of the open forums of the internet as we used to know them.
With many people moving in the direction of platforms like Discord, the “You can just point your browser at an address and see” nature of the web is dwindling.
