@HappyGuidedog @DesignedByBlind Very sorry to hear. I fondly remember the first time he came to the office and was amazed by the friendly dog that could operate buttons, identify restaurants by cuisine, and always hone in on the nearest pub.

Mercer was truly a wonderful dog. Faithfully serving @DesignedByBlind day in day out; expertly, patiently, obediently guiding him in London rush hours, through sunshine, rain, hail, sleet and snow. He even took the time to see me off to the other side of the world! RIP buddy x

I had the pleasure of befriending this wonderful dog while I was working at the EIU. He was smart, friendly, playful and just a joy having him around, whether it was in the office or playing at Greenwich Park. We don't deserve dogs.

He wasn't just a fantastic guide dog; he became a fabulous pet dog as well who loved to cuddle all the time.

With great sadness and a heavy heart, we have to inform you that Mercer passed away today. He was the most loyal guide dog who guided @designedbyblind for 9.5 years around the world - in Paris, Lisbon, Vienna, Berlin, New York, San Diego and many other places.

When he wasn't a guide dog, he was a cheeky Labrador who loved dog beaches. He retired in 2020 during the lockdown. Good timing as he enjoyed being with both of us 24/7, changing between study and conservatory during the day.
