If you hate others for what they think, you are tethering yourself to suffering, for that hatred stems from a desire to control the uncontrollable. Other people’s thoughts are like clouds in the sky, passing and ever-changing. Clinging to anger over them is like grasping a burning ember—it only harms you.
Suffering arises from attachment and aversion, from insisting that reality conform to your will. Hating others for their beliefs traps you in a cycle of pain. Instead, let go of the need to control and see their thoughts as reflections of their experiences, not threats to your peace.
By cultivating compassion and detachment, you free yourself from this burden and open the door to your peace.
