@JoshYohe_PGH@Flux_cc Fundamentally, I agree. But if you sell high, you should return high. The return was a healthy scratch for much of the playoffs.
The sell was our 2nd best defenseman, at now $500k/yr (albeit 1 year). Huge asset
@nhlpens Agreed. It’s one thing to give him $15M/yr. It’s another thing to give up (2) firsts, Rakell, McGroarty and whatever it will take to give him $15M/yr.
@AlexxxVulgar@FonzieSoto And 22pts in 20 playoff games. Hoping it’s a good player, traded for minimal, who can improve in a better situation. This is our whole strategy. Acquire a billion picks and trade them for former first rounders with upside hoping our development staff can get the rest out of them
@kelsey_surmacz4 No one said tank. You can sell 1-2 guys, prep for the future, and much like last year, be competitive enough for the kids to not have bad habits. Letting Karlsson walk would be as bad as anything Hextall did. Gotta re-sign or trade.
@SethRorabaugh Probably most underrated player on the team. Incredible stick skills. Solid 200ft player. Can finish. Can PK if you need. Great top-6 winger and can play a solid 2nd line center. Love em! 4.5 years on the Pens now.
@SouthSideOil@NHLRumourReport Smart by Nurse. Stayed 2 years hoping to win a cup. Didn’t because the Oilers suck. Knows they aren’t gonna and it’s a toxic team. Got his big contract and is now getting out on his own terms to a team of his choosing. He’s doing it right. The Oilers, very clearly doing it wrong
