Piedmont Triad Partnership’s Carolina Core Regional Economic Development Director — 27+ years in regional/local economic development in central North Carolina
NC Carolina Core’s economic developers are proud to celebrate North Carolina’s #1 ranking as America’s Top State for Business. We are equally proud that our region is a major reason why the state has received that recognition 3 of the last 4 years!
• In the last 7 years, we’ve announced 73,200 jobs, 5 projects of $1 billion or more in capital investment, and 33 projects of $100 million or more in capital investment.
• There’s no stopping the momentum in the Carolina Core! That momentum includes the state’s largest jobs announcement ever (@JetZeroAero, 14,564 jobs) and the state’s largest capital investment announcement ever (@Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina, $13.9 billion).
• Counties in the Carolina Core region are Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Harnett, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Person, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes, and Yadkin along with parts of Johnston, Orange, and other adjoining counties.
• The largest cities in the Carolina Core are Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Fayetteville, High Point, Burlington, Thomasville, Asheboro, Sanford, Kernersville, Clemmons, Lexington, Mebane, and Pinehurst.
• The region’s impressive results confirm that our local economic development professionals in those counties and municipalities are the best in the business – just as North Carolina is!
