#BNCweb, the #LancsBox site, and misc other systems are also affected as it's the machine, not the program, that's misbehaving!

@12pri34 I worked out the problem - the new version of PHP wasn't picking up the right config file. I'd put the file in the right place but not restarted the PHP daemon!

For anyone interested in the details: the server runs Debian and is still using bullseye, so an update to either bookworm or trixie is needed. My development machines are also in the process of shifting to trixie - so I can start using PHP 8.2 instead of 7.whatever bullseye has.
