Black lives matter. We affirm this as a dept. that studies words & stories. As students of Douglass, Hurston, Hughes, Baldwin, Morrison, & others, we believe these writers when, in Angelouโs words, they have shown us who they are. May justice prevail, & may we contribute to it.
Today was our Department Awards chapel, featuring songs by Dr. Nick Boone, devotional thoughts by Dr. Terry Engel, and prayer by Dr. Heath Carpenter.
Awards presentations followed the devotional.
