STEAM MACHINE UPDATE
Steam Machine’s welcome tour was added to Steam’s Backend last night! When this happened with Steam Controller, it was only a few weeks before launch! ITS HAPPENING!!!
@StefanFlashdeck I tried to make it very clear it was opinionated but maybe I just didn’t word it right considering the replies. My only point was that it’d be smart to launch a console with a game, simple.
Seems this was right aswell! It’s looking like Steam Machine is definitely launching in June. I’d ASSUME the same for Steam Frame and I’m sure we’ll be hearing more updates over the next days/weeks.
THE STEAM CONTROLLER, THE FIRST OF 3, IS OUT NOW.
THE STEAM MACHINE AND STEAM FRAME WILL RELEASE WITHIN 2 MONTHS BEFORE JUNE 30TH.
BUY IT HERE FOR $99.

This post is less about Valve subsidizing the price and more that I think a game could release with Steam Machine. Regardless of how much it is people will complain but it’d be really bad for Valve if it was anything over $1000. I’m sure they’ll do whatever they can though
I want to make it clear this post is a PERSONAL OPINION and not an update. I'm not trying to get people's hopes up as not much would back this and I'm also not very knowledged on the subject, but I haven't seen anyone consider this so I thought it was worth posting.
Something l've thought about is that there is a way Valve could sell Steam Machine at a major loss but still make up for it. Consoles often launch with big releases, more recent examples being Mario Kart World, Astro's Playroom (although free with the PS5), and much more over time. This has been common practice for decades and helps with sales, whether included with the console for free, an optional bundle, or just a same time release.
All I'm saying is, if Valve was working on a large game, say one of the most anticipated games of all time, it may be smart to launch it the same day as Steam Machine, as it is both a console and a PC. Regardless if this game would ship with it or not considering that it'd be on Steam anyway, it would still be great for money to release at the same time, and Valve would definitely make their money back. Not trying to do the "hopium" thing without any evidence either, we do know Valve has been working on SOMETHING for years and all I'm saying is this could be the best time to release that. What do you think about this?

@G0ttaGoFastt Untrue! If you’ve been following :-) They’ve both had different updates yes, but we’ve heard a variety of things about both over the last few months, and the verification and compatibility info that happens close to launch I’m referring to has generally been in the past month.
@user_294037729 Nope! It all will release, and it all will release soon. Prices could also go down if the ram situation gets better, but that’s a while away.
Just one week until #SummerGameFest is live NEXT FRIDAY.

People on here love to get others’ hopes down, but I assure you; we WILL hear something in June. I think Summer Game Fest would be a smart guess, but obviously nothing backs that. Don’t get your hopes down when we’re finally this close :-)!
