FREE PET ADOPTIONS ALL JUNE | We're partnering with BARC Animal Shelter for another June adoption initiative. The more pets we get to loving homes, the more that can alleviate stress on our shelter system.
Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day - but make sure metallic balloons aren’t. We're reminding customers to keep balloons indoors, anchored and properly disposed of, especially with possible storms this weekend. Unsecured metallic balloons have caused outages for more than 75,000 customers since 2021.
Help keep the power on and your celebration safe: weigh down balloons, don’t let them escape outside and never try to retrieve one from power lines. Learn more: https://t.co/7LYQS31nYu
Our crews are working hard every day to deliver safe, reliable, and resilient energy to the communities we serve. a.m. update: 1,300 CenterPoint Energy frontline workers and contractors are in the field restoring power after the first wave of severe storms packing strong winds and heavy lightning moved through the Greater Houston area early this morning. At the height of the storms, about 169,000 of our 2.8 million customers were impacted - 95% did not experience a service interruption, and 19,000 have already been restored.
Crews will continue working safely and quickly to restore power to those customers who are still out before a second round of potentially strong storms expected tonight.

"I know (@HoustonChron) will continue to bet against reform and demonize me at every turn. I'm O.K. with that — because they are losing and becoming irrelevant. But I just hope they don't pick on our students or teachers."
