Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu: On state govt's appointment of Venkata Narayana as special representative in Delhi, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol. Thirumavalavan said, "The appointment of the Special Representative was the Chief Minister's personal decision, and the post had been given to a person who enjoys the Chief Minister's confidence... the position was not one that exercised executive powers in governance, and the Chief Minister had entrusted it to someone he trusted... it was an internal party matter and not a government office, and therefore the party leader had the authority to make such appointments."
