The stretch of Velachery main road opposite J7 police station has become an old vehicle dumpyard. I counted 12 such vehicles today. Please remove them. It causes obstruction to pedestrians and makes it unsafe.
@walkingindia@straphanger_in : I am planning on creating a dataset where we identify 100 (say) points of interest in Chennai, and completely analyse all the 100*100 source-destination trips-- trip time, walking convenience, transit etc. Would you be interested in helping out?
I am disappointed with these reasoning model LLMs. They seem painfully horribly bad, and are useless unless you know the answer already.

@francoisfleuret Sample words from model. Create a bigram word count matrix of size V times V. Return the row having smallest sum and highest sparsity.
@UpdatesChennai But after spending (say) 1 lakh crore and 20 years time, will folks really spend 1 to 2 hours extra just to reach the airport?
Might be better to give up on air supremacy and spend the time, money and political will on something like an extra 100kms of metro.
@pretentiouswhat I dunno why you read so much into that tweet. Literally he just says things that China considers impressive are concrete, while things that Japan/Korea consider impressive are people. I dunno if that is true. But that is all Noah's tweet says. Nothing about which city has which.
@CumtaOfficial Please upgrade your website security/certificates. My browser gives warnings when I click the link and says it could be an attack and "Your connection is not private".
@CumtaOfficial Already done. I had also suggested a more useful survey, where you ask each person 4 places within Chennai that are important to them (e.g home, workplace, school, other workplace). With those locations, build transit so that all trips are quick, safe and comfortable.
@ChennaiTraffic@R_Sudhakar_Ips 2 questions: How do you enforce this? What is a residential area? e.g. is Velachery main road from Vijayanagar bus stand to Guru Nanak college residential? Multiple apartment complexes on this road. If yes, then excellent. Too much rash driving.
@UpdatesChennai A Chromepet-Thoraipakkam Metro line would be amazing for this, far more valuable than a Siruseri-Vandalur line. But we have "considered" the latter and ignored the former.
@CumtaOfficial 👍.Please do another survey which just asks 4 city locations important to them and family. A father in a typical family of 4 might put his workplace, wife's workplace, kid's school and home. Design CMP so that 1 hour walk/transit is possible for most pairs of locations there.
@ChennaiTraffic I beg you please to make bus bays, with extra space away from the lanes, a reality in Velachery main road/Guru Nanak salai. 2 lane roads with bus routes are horrible when 2 buses stop simultaneously on both lanes.
@UpdatesChennai Way forward is MTC to mostly be for short (<5km) trips, and integrating suburban rail tightly with Metro. But they (MTC/suburban) will not do it because that will feel like a loss of power. Metro needs about 20 lakh daily ridership (about 15k per station will do) to force them.
@CumtaOfficial The MTC should be completely reoriented around the metro/suburban/mrts. Their main purpose should be to move people to and from their bus stops to the nearest railway stn. You can double the number of bus trips for same buses by shortening routes.
@MountainOfMoon Haha. I saw a similar travesty in IJCAI as a reviewer. The paper minimised a lagrangian w.r.t. BOTH x and lambda using gradient descent. NO other reviewer caught it. What's the value of reviews when such basic errors are not caught? (or when the reviewer is unaware of basic PAC?)
@scienceisstrat1 Why is there such a huge discrepancy between the tweet a couple days ago titled "a renewable revolution" where battery sales for 2023 was merely 40GWh? Here it is more than 3000GWh.
@gowerrobert If you really care the same for a loss reduction of 2 to 1 as you do about the loss reduction from 0.02 to 0.01 then this is absolutely the right thing to do.
