Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned people in the region not to be within a one-kilometer radius of banks, saying financial institutions linked to the United States or Israel could become targets.

The warning followed an overnight strike on a Bank Sepah building on Tehran’s Haqqani Highway, which hit a facility where employees were working an emergency shift. Iranian media reported bank staff were killed in the attack.

Iranian officials said the U.S. and Israel targeted the bank after “failing to achieve military objectives,” adding: “The Americans should await our painful countermeasure.”

Bank Sepah later said in-person and offline services had stabilized and technical teams were working to resolve disruptions caused by the strike.

Following the threats, Citigroup asked staff in Dubai to evacuate its offices due to heightened security concerns, according to AFP, while employees at two other firms in the Dubai International Financial Centre said their offices were also cleared.
