❗️President Zelensky thanked the United States and Norway for the NASAMS system and missiles for it, as well as France and Germany for a new package of support for Ukraine’s air defenses. Last night, Russian strikes damaged Kyiv (the Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station depot, data and business centers, and residential buildings), Odesa region (an educational institution, a dormitory, and two foreign vessels), as well as Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Volyn, and Rivne regions. Energy facilities, substations, enterprises, and housing were damaged.
Russian military bloggers continue to complain of the beating their taking at the front, now blaming the ongoing mass surrenders on lack of basic supplies, no food and drinking their own urine to survive.
NEW: 🇵🇱 Polish PM Donald Tusk says Poland is facing very difficult weeks and months as Russia’s increasingly aggressive actions in Ukraine move closer to Poland’s border.
Tusk said Russian attacks near the Polish border, particularly against border crossings and infrastructure, have become permanent forcing Polish aircraft to scramble repeatedly.
He added that Poland’s security services remain on maximum alert and that the government is focused on preventing the threat from spreading onto Polish territory

🇺🇦 Zelensky: In Kyiv, the depot of Kyiv-Passenger station, data and business centers, and residential buildings were damaged.
In the Odesa region, an educational institution, a dormitory, and two foreign ships were damaged.
The Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Volyn, and Rivne regions were also hit by Russian strikes that night.
Energy facilities, substations, civilian enterprises, and residential buildings were damaged.
There were downings that night, including ballistic missiles. Thank you to everyone involved in defense and everyone who adheres to our agreements. I am grateful to our American and Norwegian partners for NASAMS complex and the missile package for it.
I am grateful to France and Germany for the support package for our air defense these days, namely with missiles.
These are the indicative estimates of Russia’s combat losses as of Sept. 28, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated Ridkodub, Nove and Katerynivka, returning 40.7 km², — Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi.
During the offensive, Russians surrendered in entire groups.
Remember: Russia has deliberately struck civilian targets since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This is a feature, not a bug, of Putin’s strategy, encompassing not just air strikes but child abduction and indoctrination, and other acts of organized violence.

Today, Ukrainian channels are competing with one another to show footage of Russian prisoners of war.
The Third Army Corps released a video and stated that, during the latest stage of Operation Vivaldi in the Krasnyi Lyman direction, more than 250 of our servicemen were taken prisoner. Among them, according to the Ukrainian side, are officers, pilots, and artillerymen.
Our Defense Ministry or General Staff have not commented on this footage in any way.
Are all of these Russian servicemen? Were they all captured at once, or were they collected over months in different areas and then lined up in a single shot?
Our sources, with [rare exceptions], are silent. And the Ukrainian side has detonated its own “information bomb.”
Imagine what their relatives are feeling. Photos are being forwarded in family chats. Mothers and wives are scrutinizing the faces, looking for their loved ones. And the explanation for this footage is being given to them in Kyiv.
Back on September 19, the Defense Ministry’s channel wrote that the clearing of blocks of buildings of isolated Ukrainian soldiers was continuing in Krasnyi Lyman.
Nine days later, a person sees hundreds of our prisoners, as claimed — from the same direction. Who are people going to believe?
We’ve been through this before. In the autumn of 2022, the withdrawal from the Balakliia and Izium areas was called a “regrouping.”
In August 2024, the AFU entered the Kursk region. The very next day, Gerasimov reported that the enemy’s advance deep into Russia had been stopped.
Five days later, the then-acting governor, Smirnov, said that the AFU had advanced 12 kilometers deep and 40 kilometers across. Liberating the region took almost nine months.
In November of last year, the liberation of Kupiansk was reported. Three weeks later, Zelensky recorded a video at the sign at the entrance to the city. And in official reports, Kupiansk is still, almost a year later, “in the process of being cleared.”
People can survive a military setback. They can endure it and still support you. What they cannot forgive is the feeling that they’re being treated like fools.
In posts about information warfare, I wrote that the truth is more beneficial than silence, and that it needs to be told in time. Today’s case fits that exactly.
It’s time to tell the truth. Admit that the situation in this area differs from the latest official report.
State that we see the footage, are studying it, and are clarifying the number and names of the prisoners and the circumstances, but that we will do everything to bring everyone back home.
Then honestly explain where and when our guys were captured. Is this one episode, or the result of several months of fighting?
If Kyiv combined prisoners from different days into a single picture, that needs to be proven and shown. If this is a real setback, it needs to be acknowledged and explained.
And information must not be replaced with bans. We can and should restrict those who give the enemy information about positions and movements.
But official information needs to appear quickly. Otherwise, it ends up that our own people have their hands tied, while the Third Corps of the AFU is the one telling our audience about our prisoners.
Our people are not fools. They will see the photographs anyway. Bitter truth from our own side is always better than that same truth being presented by the enemy in a way that serves its interests.
And war means both advances and retreats — anything can happen. We take prisoners, and sometimes our own men are taken prisoner.
Despite what has happened, we do not have a collapse of the front, and the situation is much better than it has been in the past — around Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Kursk. And our guys in captivity will definitely return home.”
