I just learned something about California auto insurance that I genuinely cannot believe is legal.
In mid July, my legally parked car was hit by a driver carrying only a $3,000 property-damage limit.
He had insurance through California’s Low Cost Auto Insurance Program (CLCA).
Normal California drivers are required to carry at least $15,000 in property-damage liability.
But under this state-created program, qualifying drivers can carry just $3,000 PER ACCIDENT in property-damage coverage.
Not $3,000 per car.
$3,000 TOTAL.
In my case, there’s allegedly another damaged vehicle making a claim against the same tiny $3,000 pot. My damage alone is already estimated at more than $3,000.
And here’s another part I didn’t know: California says qualifying drivers can participate regardless of immigration status, including drivers with AB 60 licenses (California driver’s license available to people who cannot provide proof of legal immigration status in the United States) provided they can prove they’re low-income.
So California created a system where certain drivers can legally carry a fraction of the liability coverage normally required—and when they cause thousands of dollars in damage, the innocent people they hit can be left fighting over $3,000.
I didn’t choose this insurance policy.
I didn’t cause the accident.
My car was PARKED.
Yet I may be the one left paying for damage someone else caused.
How does that make sense?
Lol, lmfao even
Texas sucks?
That must be why everyone is moving there or elsewhere in the south.
California has lost nearly a million residents in the last decade and one electoral vote.
California also has:
• The highest state income tax rate with the highest income bracket being taxed at a rate of 13.3%.
• The 2nd highest household electricity prices at 31¢ / kWh.
• The highest gas prices with regular averaging $5.61 / gal, mid-grade at $5.84 / gal, and premium at $6.04 / gal.
• The 3rd highest unemployment rate at 5.1% (it’s usually highest).
• The 5th highest homeless population per capita as of 2024, at 47.4 per 100,000.
• The strongest net migration away from the state.
• The worst air quality in the U.S.
Things are so great there!
Keep drinking the Kool-Aid, TikTok brain.
@SicEm365@Colt_Barber Yep, we’ll go 4-8. Aranda will fire an assistant or two. But will have learned something. Livingston will extend his contract. The good news, nachos and hot dog prices will be lowered again in 2027.
@T_REX1991 Hahah! Stop. Like dip shit Aranda did anything to develop Ben Sims. Proof of being shitty at everything evidenced by his pissing away the 2025 offensive talent. Including knucklehead Trigg.
But I have been reliably told for over twenty years that climate change was going to kill us all. How dare you share facts that call that into question?
@joekent16jan19 Umm… no. Dumb take Joe. The mistake is not making the entire country of Iran into a fine dust. You got fired for sucking at your job. I see why. Enjoy being a private citizen again.
David French has two standards:
He will not judge the Christian theology of leftists such as James Talarico, even if they are Gnostic and heretical.
He will happily judge the Christianity of Trump supporters.
I do not judge his faith. But I do point out that the money that funds him, also rewards this direction.
Democrat operative caught on hidden camera admitting how they rigged the 2020 Georgia election, stuffed ballots, lied and kicked out poll watchers from the State Farm Arena, pulled out hidden suitcases of ballots, and ran the same stacks throughout the night until Biden cleared the margin of victory.
Since I’m going to be hearing this for the next 6 months as a Texas voter, let me answer the question:
“You would vote for an adulterer over James Talarico? That’s not very Christian.”
Here’s the truth: I would rather vote for almost anyone else who is going to at least advocate for conservative *policies* over a literal heretic who wears my faith like a skin suit, advocates for policies that harm children, endorses immorality and generally harm society.
Ken Paxton has personal baggage. I don’t deny that. But Talarico has plenty too — and he openly mocks God’s law and treats Jesus as a political mascot all while pushing a radical far-left agenda that would be a disaster for my state.
You see, I’m an adult. I do not expect those who are seeking political office to be my moral superiors or even trustworthy. They are tools to be used to do the least amount of damage via policy.
I wish more pastors and men who live godly lives were running. I really do. But the options we get are what they are.
Paxton supports secure borders, law enforcement, lower taxes, unleashing American energy, the Second Amendment, just to name a few.
Talarico supports unlimited abortion, trans-ing children, higher taxes, government-run “healthcare,” and is incredibly comfortable blaspheming the word of God.
I’m not voting for a priest. I’m voting for an imperfect person to represent my interests. That’s how it works.
You’re not going to guilt trip Texans into supporting a looney tunes candidate like Talarico. Paxton will win by 5+.
It’s about policy, not personality.
@kevinmyoung The way Democrats are contorting Christianity into a farce just to avoid Paxton in favor of Talarico says everything about the demise of Democratic in America.
There is no interpretation of the Bible that can support the Gospel of James Talarico
God isn’t gender nonbinary
Climate alarmism isn’t a biblical mandate
It’s time for Republicans to unite behind Ken Paxton, who won tonight’s runoff in Texas

@amuse@GallagherShow The amount of money spent on elections period is ridiculous. The Dems spent a whopping $1.1 BILLION on the failed, 106 day Kam Harris campaign. Staggering.
@johnthune@SenTedCruz@JohnCornyn@KenPaxtonTX@POTUS@ScottPresler
The GOP spent millions on a failed Cornyn senate run in Texas. How much was spent to pass the SAVE America Act? Senator Cruz, balls in your court. You’re on the clock. Kill the filibuster NOW.
@snedeker33@BaylorBears247 It is coach. Can we add winning though? This BU alum and sports fan can’t take much more losing. All programs stinking up the place. Sic’em forever!
Elon just endorsed it.
Gad Saad dropped the hammer on Fox this morning.
We now live in a world where:
- Rape victims get less sympathy than their rapists
- Homeowners get less than the squatters breaking in
- American vets get less than illegal migrants
- Repeat felons with 186 charges get 200 more “chances” because “society made them do it”
This isn’t kindness.
This is suicidal empathy.
Universities spent decades teaching our judges, leaders, and elites that personal agency is a myth if you check the right oppression boxes. So criminals become victims, victims become bigots for complaining, and the whole system rots from the inside.
