@KevinM_YGO @Wizards_Rest I’m not American, so I don’t follow US gun violence. In the UK, one school shooting led to major gun law changes. So things can be done. But comparing school shootings to protesters at a red carpet is a massive leap. They’re completely different situations.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@JustDecibelios @Wizards_Rest Funny how everyone understands the difference between fiction and reality until someone suggests protecting actual children.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@thhawkinsactual @Wizards_Rest Or, hear me out, just prioritise the children’s safety and keep their exposure to unnecessary risks to a minimum.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@mythrilshard @Wizards_Rest So we agree that HBO’s decisions deserve scrutiny? Great. Then surely taking precautions to protect the child actors should be part of that. 💀

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@Preston60139931 @Wizards_Rest Imagine getting this worked up over someone suggesting child actors’ safety should be a priority 💀 Nobody said protesters were definitely going to hurt anyone, but you can’t predict how every situation will unfold. Taking precautions to protect children is common sense.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@thegarnetto @Wizards_Rest You’re missing my point. I’m not saying these particular protesters were going to hurt anyone. I’m saying you can’t predict how every situation will unfold, and children shouldn’t have to be caught up in it. Prevention is better than waiting for something to go wrong.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@thegarnetto @Wizards_Rest You don’t know what people are capable of or how things might escalate. Children shouldn’t be caught up in these situations. I’d rather HBO take precautions than risk putting children in a situation like that. Why wait for something to happen before taking their safety seriously?

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@Wizards_Rest Truly worry for their safety. I honestly hope HBO has some sense and keeps the kids away from public promotion. Just have them do video interviews instead.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@dumbidot1 If you bothered to picked up the books you’d know.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@Aurora_verdit If you bothered to pick up the books and actually read them, you’d know their story.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@susanacamarillo @Wizards_Rest Exactly! I genuinely don’t understand what some fans are thinking. They keep saying it’s going to be the biggest show ever, yet they’re in a complete state over the lack of marketing. It’s Harry Potter, surely the name speaks for itself? Why are they in such a panic.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@thiegonovais People say this will be the biggest show ever, yet worry it won’t succeed without aggressive marketing. It’s Harry Potter, one of the biggest franchises in the world. Surely that name recognition counts for something?

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@Gaxxod2 They can always read the books, unless schools and parents can’t be bothered to teach the kids how to be literate.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@XingZhaolin310 @Spattergroit900 But that’s exactly my point. If studios only invest in stories with an already-proven massive audience, how are new stories ever supposed to build an audience of their own?
Harry Potter is obviously the safer bet because it’s an established global franchise.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@Spattergroit900 If you don’t care about the point I’m making, that’s fine. But not caring about an argument isn’t the same as disproving it.

[Harley @HarleyMP1998]

@Spattergroit900 You keep telling me to deal with it, as though questioning a studio’s creative priorities means I think I can stop the series from happening. I know it’s being made. I’m allowed to question the decision without being against the show itself.
