Thus, the boycott of U.S. booze represents the legitimate assertion of Canadian sovereignty, and represents Canadian public opinion, as evidenced by declining tourist visits to the U.S., the collapse in Canadian views of the U.S., and the fact that the Canadian electorate has rewarded leaders who push for a united, pro-Canada stance rather than the blame Canada stance some less scrupulous politicians and ‘influencers’ are drifting towards. It also represents Canada’s refusal to accept a subordinate status in which we make concessions for nothing while the Trump Administration inflicts economic damage on our country at will.

Who's Really Profiting from Alberta's Data Centers?

The Alberta government calls data centers a multi-billion-dollar opportunity.

But what's the return for Albertans?

These projects demand enormous amounts of electricity, natural gas, water and public infrastructure.

They place new pressures on municipalities and local communities, yet the government has provided very little information about the long-term economic benefits to Albertans.

How much provincial tax revenue will they generate?

What will they cost taxpayers and how will they affect affordability and inflation?

Why are municipalities and local residents being sidelined in the process?

I'm not opposed to data centers. Alberta should absolutely compete for investment. But attracting investment at any cost isn't good government.

If Albertans are expected to provide the land, infrastructure, energy and public services that make these projects possible, then Albertans should be the first to benefit - not the last.

We need transparency, accountability and a framework that protects the public interest before we commit billions of dollars' worth of Alberta's resources.

The Truth About Milk 🥛🇨🇦🇺🇸

Yes, Canada has high over-quota dairy tariffs on the books. But here’s the part that keeps getting left out:

They’ve never been triggered on U.S. milk under USMCA. Not once.

The U.S. gets a large tariff-free quota to sell dairy into Canada. Those quotas have never been filled, so the 200–300% over-quota tariffs have never actually been applied to U.S. exports. Even the U.S. dairy industry has acknowledged it has never come close to exceeding the quotas.

Canada is a country of just 41 million people. We simply don’t consume enough imported U.S. dairy to hit the quota limits. The “270% tariff on Canadian milk” talking point/ sound bite leaves out the most important fact: it has never actually been charged on U.S. exports.
