Ireland's Forest Service is planting tree plantations on high nature value farmland/species rich grasslands that support ground nesting birds, insects incdg pollinators. This has to stop. @VSinkevicius @MichealMartinTD We need trees in the right place not wiping out biodiversity.

@rayofoghlu @MORANEnv Interestingly policy often ensures they dont emerge...incentives to plant such places with forestry rather than to allow naturally regenerate. Also that type of land is typically excluded from payments including Pillar 1 and Pillar 2. Lovely spot 🙂

When we look to greater wildness, on our hills, & lowland farms, cattle are a species of wild wooded landscapes, & trees scrub & wood are not hindered but helped by their presense in correct numbers. Whether its Ivy, Ash, Briar etc & here sally or willow its part of their diet
