In Y9, we are studying interpretations of the Russian Revolution in 1917. Students have acquired lots of knowledge on the events before judging the historical works of Figes and Reed on the October Revolution! Super impressed with our wonderful students work @HarrisSAEL
Writing thesis statements today with Y12 HSAEL historians. We codified what made an excellent thesis. We created a success criteria - students made bounds of progress, showing the importance of 1) a clear Teacher led exposition 2) simplified and codified criteria.

Our previous TeachMeets have been extremely successful with over 200 history teachers from across the country attending! Please share these details with your colleagues.
New to teaching A Level masterclass being delivered at @habe today, excellent demos of casual thinking and using criteria to construct arguments... super impressive subject knowledge showing that's key 👍
A rare opportunity to be a subject lead of history in one of our amazing academies! if you like the sound of:
-autonomy over your subject curriculum
-access to a network of over hundred history teachers
-continued subject specific training and support
-a supportive SLT
Looking forward to the second session led by our very own @ADickens86 from @HarrisEdHistory which foregrounds the importance of avoiding generic writing frames that disconnect the writing from the actual historical discipline. 'The Downfall of PEEL' #HAconf23#historyteacher
